Torchy , I still haven't decided on the markings yet . I have so many options to choice from

PS , Grenadier , I'm almost done another mustang , just finishing up the details

The cockpit is finished and the combing is glued in place . The fit for this was excellent , no sanding or trimming of any of the parts . Will have pic's up tomorrow of this .

I start with the lead wires for the spark plugs and really messed one up ! it is now a small ball of unidentifiable piece of wire . New ones will be made to replace these items giving it a more realistic appreance same with the two oil lines on front of the engine . And that is all for now ............................

The rigging for mine is about half-done, but at this point, I'll be damned if I'm NOT going to get a campaign ribbon!

Hi Terri and Bill C:

Well, it is nice to see both of these projects back on the forum. I am looking forward to seeing progress on both.
Best of luck to both you, and model on for the ribbon.

Great work so far Terri.

Now I have finished my LVG, and there is still a few weeks to go before the campaign finishes I am going to try and build my SE5.a in the time remaining for the build. Totally OOB except for the rigging.. It will be the first time I have tried to make my own turnbuckles from scratch which should be interesting. I think I have the correct guage wire for them, and I purchased a couple of pairs of lockwire pliers which SHOULD make twisting them simple.. Just have to watch the tension.

I have 99% finished my Wife's Queen Mary II so I will have time to concentrate on the Hisso, and one of those WW2 Mustang things just like you Terri..

Thanks guy's , but I think I just made a big mistake on the rad . Those pipe thingies sitting on top on the engine leading into the rad broke in a bad way . When the engine is fixed in place ( in it's mounting slots ) when the rad is placed in front of this joined with the pipe thingie there is a gap . I ended up glueing the top cowl on and used srcaps of plastic to fill in . Some clean up now needs to be done with some putty and lines scribe in .

I also ended up losing a few PE parts to the carpet monster So for the excess hatch on the right side of the fuselage has no detail . Scrap plastic will be used here .

Also made another mistake and used the wrong PE parts on the rudder bar . The half circle both plates used have gone on the steps on the out side of the fuselage BIG OPPS HERE !

Hi Terri;

Nice to see you back on this project, hopefully you can get it done before 11 November. I think the instructions for this kit are pretty vague in certain areas and can lead the modeler down the wrong path. After my 'meltdown' of the first one, I hesitantly tackled the 2nd one, but worked more slowly and cautiously and found several areas in the instructions that were vague. This vaguery may have caused some of the angst that you experienced with the radiator pipes. It is too bad as you spent a lot of time on the engine detailing it.
You did a nice recovery there Terri, keep those photo's coming.

Thanks for the support guy's ! I'm hoping by this weekend to start laying paint and working on the smaller details . Haven't had much time for building , work is keeping me very busy of late . I will have this done on NOV 11 .

Very ture Mark . The instructions are very vague in some areas and my frustration could have been do to just being over tired and not paying attention to what I should have been doing . I do like how the top wing fit's into place though , what a dream !

Terri,

Just a word of warning, maybe it will affect you or not, I think I misaligned my engine a little but if you are planning on using the shrouds that cover the cylinder ends, do them first before even thinking of paint chuck.

they can be a bugger to fit
