Hi Damian
During WWII, 404 Sqn., RCAF was the first Canadian coastal squadron formed overseas. Part of their mission was to attack and destroy enemy shipping along the Norwegian and Dutch coasts. To this end, they used Blenhiem, Beaufighter, and Mosquito aircraft, usually carring RP's, but, also bombs and torpedo's. They sank, shared in sinking, or damaged over 45 enemy vessels.
I realize that thier mission also called for long range fighter escort.
(RCAF, Squadrons and Aircraft.- Kostenuk/Griffin)
I would like to enlist, and hope to do a Mosquito Mk.VI in 404 colors. I suspect these aircraft would have been packing RP's, and possibly bombs.
Does a Coastal Command Mosquito Mk.VI fit within your campaign criteria?
Thanks . Guy

G'day Guy, I'd be honoured to have you on board, and your proposed kit certainly fits the bill.
I'd love to see a diverse range of kits in this Campaign. I've chosen my kit now, and will post pics once it arrives, but it's one that hasn't been proposed by anybody else yet.
Cheers, D

I'll add a Beaufighter (Marque unknown) and a Mosquito (57mm Molins Gun) as my couple for this campaign.
With the Beaufighter several idea's crop up, either of the RAAF "Bismarck Sea" or the 'Colonial ShipBusters Inc' with 455 Sqn or the RNZAF Sqn.

Bob, when those pictures of you were taken I was 1 year old.
Ironic isn't it? At that time you had more teeth then me......now it's the other way around.
Hello oh great campaign leader! Since bottom feeding scum like myself can't seem to get a PM response to questions.......................would a French Mirage with Exocet missles be OK?
Hermon

Hey Hermon, got your PM and was going to respond earlier but got distracted by our other discussions
I think the Exocet idea is a cool spin on the torpedo theme, basically an airborne guided torpedo. I don't recall any purpose for the Exocet apart from anti-shipping (but as always I could be wrong), so grab the kit and stash it safely until November.

Yep! Herman it is pretty ironic as you stated I have come full circle and this should serve as inspiration to all of you to take care of your valuable teeth. I just came from the VA dentist yesterday to have the sutures removed. Two were imbedded and infected, putting off my last impressions for the dentures another month Oh well school is still giving me nightmares so no time to sweat the teeth or lack there of. Herman you must be the same age as my son, and I think the Exocet is a great idea and a terrible weapon. It and the Harpoon we used when I was in are practically the same type of terror no defenses against really, just a lot of bang and destruction.
@D. if you or Herman know where I can get a P-3 let me know or I will change my entry to some a/c readily available.

These are 1/72 scale. Couldn't find anything right off hand in 1/48 but these 72 scale kits are between 35 and 65 bucks.
Anyhoo...........If I've never told you this before, I'll say it now. Thank you for your service to America Bob.

Damian,
I'm very interested in this campaign as I have tons of Kates, Vals, Dauntless, Avengers, Beaus .....
Starting this November, you said? Well, let me see how I could squeeze it in .... I want to build 2 Vals for the Pearl Habor Campaign, so they're out of the race.
Well .... I have here another german twin engine ship hunter, a Dornier Do 217 E (one of my favourite bombers btw) with a wire guided Henschel Hs 293 anti shipping rocket Yes, if I can manage to join this campaign I will build this one. Ouch! It's a single build!!!
Somehow you Aussie know how to give me the last kick to get my old kits on the workbench
Torsten

Hello Torsten,
That Dornier Do 217 E and the Henschel Hs 293 anti shipping rocket sounds like a really good subject. I am just anticipating your build like a 6 year old at their birthday. And when Damian wakes up I will wager that he likes the idea a lot.

Bob, I'm always awake, and always watching !!
Torsten, Excellent choice my friend. I am looking forward to this Campaign a lot now with the diversity of proposed kits. I try to suggest Campaigns that are not so "mainstream." They might not attract so many entrants but I like the unusual and uncommon builds that they bring out.
I was tossing a coin between a Do 217, a He 177, and my final choice for this campaign. I was sure that somebody would enlist with a Luftwaffe aerial torpedo so I went in a different direction. I'll post pics when it arrives.
Cheers, and thanks so much for your support. D

D (or is it Santa?) looks like I'm good for this one, found a PBJ in the stash.
No, not one of those....an Italeri 1/72 PBJ-1D with a torpedo rack in the bomb bay.

Now come on Mark, be honest, it wasn't in the stash at all. You went out and bought it just so you could join my campaign ?? Really, I'm chuffed.
That's a cool kit, I didn't know the Mitchell was ever decked out like that. You live and learn. Excellent choice, and thanks heaps for joining us Mark.
Cheers, D

Sorry D, it really was in the stash. I've been avoiding this campaign cause I don't want to figure out how to build a bomb bay in any of my TBF/M's. Earlier this week the light went off that PBJ’s carried torpedoes on racks that stuck out of the bomb bay because they were too big to fit inside. Then it was just a hope that the torpedo and rack were in the plastic.
I've always been intrigued by the PBJ (why would the Navy name a plane after a sandwich?). Finding out it was just a B-25 was a bit of a letdown. I snagged this one at some sale somewhere, probably about 3-4 moves ago. Had to dig thru 3 boxes to find it.

Hey Damian,
Like I said earlier, I'm going to try the Accurate Miniatures B-25G and I'm strictly going to build it straight from the box... probably. Hmmmm...

Well here we are again, again. 3 weeks has just flown past so, yep you guessed it, BUMP time !!
There are 30 participants enlisted, plus a handful of interested parties yet to push the BUTTON .
Roll on November, then we're off to take care of business over the open water.
Cheers, D

Hey Damian-
I'm still debating what to build for this one...have even thought (like you) about the S.79 (but in 1:48 scale).
How about something modern...like a Tu-22M3 Backfire bomber with AS-4 Kitchen anti-ship missiles? Am assuming this meets the criteria....
