I was at the same show as Sam and Allen, and somehow found a 32 scale Trumpy Swordfish in the boot of my car on the way home.

Count me in.

Andy

Andy let me in on how these kits just appear in your car. Maybe you have that special vehicle that knows what you want and makes your wish come true.

Andy,

The 32 scale Trumpeter kit is well detailed and has a few fragile bits, if you have the Mk I kit there is only the torpedo and no wing weapons or mountings as with the 48 Tamiya kit. The Mk II kit has the torpedo and all the mountings for the bombs and such.

I don't think its the car its that dancing/prancing moose

Glad the kit looks good. It might have to be on a list for Telford (as well as the other two I was being indecisive over )

Andy,

Having both the Trumpeter Swordfish Mk I and II kits I agree they need the Eduard extra detail, having not completed the Mk I as yet I did fill the hollow of the exhaust on the cowling ring by using a piece of Evergreen rod and filler {pic added} along with the clear fuselage halves {pix added}, one other thing I did was to add the filler lines to the forward fuselage tanks {pic added}.
As for the wing rigging I am using fishing line instead of the kit supplied PE and the kit instrument decal was used on my build.

Completed exhaust.

Fuselage Halves.

fuselage tank filler tubes and throttle cable.

One thing this kit needs is the horizontal cross frames on the inside of the rear fuselage halves as the kit supplies the vertical frames for either side.
Having not fitted the torpedo as yet but I intend to add the bomb racks, flare/smoke canister racks to the wings of this subject {taken from the Mk II kit - which I intend to build as a D-Day rocket armed bird.}

Hope these pix help a little.

Aaaaahhhhh, so NOW the truth comes out, ulterior motives and scheming afoot !! I should have known better than to believe your interest was truly for Allen's stash and its inevitable growth. Shame on you Sam, shame, shame, shame.

Well technically the stash increased by 6 as I bought 3 and encouraged Allen to buy 3. I know Allen has a few of mine he wants to build so it works itself out

At least I convinced him to join the campaign

In other news the B-25 has been dug out of the stash Roll on 1st Nov

Yes, that's what I have to do with my Do 217, too. Now, where have I got it? It might take some weeks to find it .... Probably it's right down at the far end of my stash, where I havn't had a look for years ....

Hi Everybody!

I´ve enlisted a few days ago 'cause this theme is irresistible, so Damian count me in!
My choice favours one of 2: the FW 200 c-4 (with that beautifull Citroen car from Tamyia, as often seen in Luftwaffe french airfields photos), or some Jap torpedo-bomber...
Anyway, it seems that there are several chaps allready focusing IJN aircrafts so probably the mamoth "Condor" will be my final choice.

I wonder if the Arado 196 can be eligeble??? it did sunk a sub in the early days of WWII, only with its 20mm guns

Cheers

I don't think the 196 qualifies my friend, we are looking for dedicated players armed to the teeth and just itching to let fly at some floating menace !! The 196 was primarily a recon aircraft with a peashooter for just in case.

Damian,

It´s official, the flight of the Kondor it is.
I must restrain myself from that superdetailing urge that torments me ever since I bought the damn kit, otherwise the 8 months lenght of the campaign might not be sufficient

Cheers

Andy,

Your welcome and I agree that the kit needed the Eduard PE sets, specially if you intend to fold the wings. My own subject has stalled along with my other models I wanted to finish off, due mainly with traveling interstate on a regular basis and the consignment builds of a 350 scale 'Tirpitz' and several 350 scale submarines, who owner has requested that I enter in the forthcoming Adelaide Model Expo.

I second that! My wife cannot understand why I need a couple of more kits when there is already 150+ in my hobby room. "My dear, this F-16 has a very special colour scheme with decals - of course I cannot live without it" It is logical to me

Anyway, back to topic. I will be jouining with a Beaufighter or a Ju 188. Both pretty old kits, but I think they will come out nice none the less.

Looking forward to get started

If I can actually make this campaign, I will be building either a 1/48 Accurate Miniatures Avenger, or a Tamiya Betty.

2 weeks guys, get those kits up to the top of the stash !! If you haven't nominated a build yet, please have a look through the thread and let me know what your thoughts are so that I can get the Roll Call together for the first post of the Official Anti-Shipping Campaign Thread !!

Looking forward to get started, Damian.

I have no idea what I will build. So many possibilities: JU 188, HE 111 torpedo version, Beaufighter, Super Etandard with Exocet, or maybe anti shipping B-25 H/J. Decisions, decisions....

Hi Jesper. I will trawl through the thread and complete the roll call as it stands and post it in this thread in the next couple of days, then you guys can see what has been proposed already. Maybe that will help some of the undecided to choose something that has not already been covered. Of course I have no objections to multiple builds of the same aircraft either.
