Hi Jeff
Wow that sounds fantastic! How long do you think it will take to build it. I think it's possible to run a campaign for a year. But we ought to fall over backwards to find a way of having you in the campaign. It will be great for everyone to learn from your skills and experience.

I'm figuring it will take the better part of a year to build. It won't be a full-time project, as there's other things I have to build for clients and a couple of FSM stories I have to bang out.
As for my skills and experience, BAH. I'm just insane enough to try things that might intimidate others. Scratchbuilding is all about breaking down the parts into their most basic shapes, and going from there. There's a ton of folks on this site that are ten-fold better than I am.

Hey Bob.
I have never actually seen it so I can't comment on it. I have only just started to even consider 1/48 aircraft and am concentrating on RAAF subjects, but ask me about the trumpeter kit and I can help.

Matthew any chance of letting in 1/144 scale?
If yes then you can count me in with an Mig-21 and/or Mig-23.

sounds excellent!
Should we do an attempt to (together) cover the complete range of MIG jets and maybe create a joint feature at the end of the campaign with a collection of the pictures giving the MIG history?
Let me start: I would do a 17 or 19

When I submitted it I believe I listed it as 1/144 through 1/24 to allow as many folks to participate.
Sounds like a good plan Drabslab. Plenty of time to compile a list of who would be interested in doing what. There are a few on my radar that would fit the bill. Thanks or the suggestion.

Hi all!
With the timeframe given, I´ll jump on one of my 1/32 MiG´s!
I like the idea to make "the history of MiG´s"!
For me, It´ll be one of these; MiG-19C, Trumpeter, (my first choice), MiG-21UM (Twoseater), Trumpeter, MiG-21F-13 Trumpeter, MiG-21MF (Revell), all in 1/32nd scale.
Cheers!

They are Migs, but I would like to keep it to the jet powered ones for this go round. "Q"

OK, I am glad that you appreciate the suggestion.
I already have a MIG -21 and a MIG-29 (under construction) in my collection.
My preference now goes to a 17 or 19 model for this campaign but am prepared to change (as long as i can build in 1/48) to another model if that means that the group would then succeed in building all models.

Well,
I have a 15 that I am planning for this particular campaign. I don't think it would matter what one builds as I'm sure we can spread this out pretty well and cover the historical part too. If I'm planning a 15, Drabslab a 17 or 19....we can just continue from there. If we duplicate some along the way...no biggee. We got time to work out details.

I will join in; I have the 1:72 hasegawa Mig17/21 combo. If we have too many 17/21s, I can go for the Has 1/72 Mig27 D or 29 Fulcrum.

Just a quick look shows 15,17,19, 21 and 23 as being the airframes folks are looking to build. Will have to look a little deeper for scale. On a time crunch at the moment as I need to drop my truck at the shop shortly. Will look deeper once I get back later this morning. Looks like we have just about all of them covered. Still no word on approval as yet though... keeping my fingers crossed. Back soon. "Q"

If it's includeable(sp?), I may dig out the ol' Revell MiG-25...possibly as an 'RB', though my scratch/conversio skills may not be up to modding the nose.
