While looking over the campaigns and spying the Century Series one, I thought it would be appropriate to host a campaign for their often time foe, the Mig. Campaign would run the same time as the Century Series, Jan-June of 2011. Any jet powered mig would qualify. 1/72-1/32 scale. Any interest comrades? Thanks, "Q"

Are we talking just Mikoyan-and-Gurevich aircraft or any Soviet built jets?

Hadn't thought that far out Andy. Was thinking in terms of what adversary aircraft the century series birds faced over SEA and beyond. Just off the top of my head I came up with Mig 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, and 31. Granted some of those weren't around during Vietnam, but they are Migs. I guess opening it up to Soviet built jets would expand it quite a bit with the whole Sukhoi line etc. Any thoughts? I was just trying to get a feel for who would be interested. I could fine tune it a little farther down the line.
Thanks, "Q"

Count me in whether it's just MiGs or the whole Soviet aircraft industry.

I'd be interested if the campaign ran longer than 6 months. It's becoming painfully apparent that I can't get 'em done quick enough

Ok! Matt, if you will do a special on metal finishes sometime in the future then I am in or I can just do a camoflaged MIG.

Da comrade! MiG 17 in my stash somewhere. Plenty of time to dig it out(1/32).
Have room for a bald guy?
Cheers!

HEY! I am bald and I bet the 17 would look great in camo.

Hello Q,

I think this is a great idea and the timing is perfect. I'm a huge fan of the MiG design bureau and have a couple samples in the stash from which to choose. Hmmmmm......

Please count me in!

Hey Q-
I would definitely be in for this, with several MiG's in the stash.

There's a Cold War jet campaign that overlaps thematically, so I'd support just keeping this one to MiG's.

Great idea!

Somebody say MiG? Count me in!

A MiG-only campaign would be pretty cool. I don't have anything against Sukhois, mind you, but I think we could get a good variety of builds with the number of decent MiG kits out there, in all scales.

Just my two shekels, though.

If I can build a MiG, put my name on the campaign list. It will give me an excuse to work over that OEZ MiG-21 that's been sitting in my stash. Or the Academy MiG-29 that has been sitting in my stash. Or the even the 1:100 Tamiya MiG-19 that has been sitting...well, you know.

Hi Matthew
I think there is enough interest in this great campaign idea to do a submission. I have an Academy 1/48 Mig 21 in my stash, but I will be buying some after market decals. The Academy one's always seem poor. I think we ought to keep it to Migs as well. I can see myself doing more than one aircraft though. Nice one Matthew.

Hi all!

I´m already tangeld up to my neck with campaigns, but this is way too good to pass!

I have lots of "Ruskis" to build, and if we keep it just to MiG´s, I still have plenty to choose from!

Count me in, Camerades!

Cheers!

I leave for a few hours and the roof caves in! Outstanding support everybody. I believe we have enough to warrant an honest campaign request. Will get the details finalized. I saw some of you mention needing longer than 6 months, would 8 work better for you? I would like to keep it as close the Century Series campaign in length as possible, but it is going to hinge on a month or two, I'll bend it as I would like as many people to participate as well. And based on the responses I got, looks like it is going to be Migs only. I need to get the final draft worked up for submisssion, but have some other duties to attend to first...household type Will get this submitted as soon as possible. Thanks for the support everybody. This looks to be a fun one for sure. "Q"

I guess I'll cap this...I'm just about ready to start a scratcbuilt MiG-31 in 1/32 scale...yes, I'm nuts... It'll be a pure scratchbuild with the exception of wheels, weapons loadout, and anything else I can scrounge from a MiG-21MF box.

I'll start documenting the build but I'm going to have to start now in order for it to be anywhere near completed for the 6-month time frame.

As long as everyone is ok with that...I'm in...
