Is this campaign still in the works? I couldn't find the enlist button.

Sabot, I don't think this one has died, but I think Damian has been up to his billabong with that F-82. Now that it's done, we should be able to catch his attention with a few well timed posts....

Nothing has been submitted as yet, hopefully Damian will once he has some of his other campaign builds finished?

Mark, my billabong, as you so politely put it, has finally had enough of that F-82 and can turn it's attention to other things.
Sabot, I haven't forgotten about this Campaign. The 1/32 Bf-109 kit I have for it is in a very loooooooong box that sticks out of the stash and yells at me every time I walk past. I was just becoming conscious of the number of "too many Campaigns" comments (probably my fault ) and thought it might be an idea to push this one back a bit.
What do you guys all think about the timing, what suits people ??
I'm ok for later this year.
Cheers, D

You call that a stash Damien?!?! You couldn't handle a stash...
You have to wait until you are over 400 kits before you have a real 'stash'..
I think it may be a bit difficult to really be sure if some re-pops are really Matchbox kits. I think it should be one of either the 2 or 3 colour kits to qualify, but that is just my opinion on the subject. I don't think that the Revell re-pops are in the spirit of the old originals all of us of a certain age helped develop our modelling skills on in the 70s and 80s.
One other thing, not all original Matchbox kits came with the clear stands either, so that may not be a good requirement.
I have four originals in the stash and will definitely join .. eventually!

Best to set a date and let it run to the end of the year. Like start 1 Feb, end 31 Dec (or something like that). Gives folks a chance to knock out a few, doesn't interfere with other campaigns (MB kits were fairly simple), but also allows those who want to super detail the time necessary.

Allrighty then, let's look at proposal version #3 Rules and Regs:
Matchbox Flying Nostalgia Campaign
1. Kit must be in original Matchbox pakaging, or an obvious re-pop.
2. Any scale, any era, aircraft or helicopters
3. If your kit is supplied with the "M"-stand, you must use it for the Gallery photo.
4. Kit decals should be used if possible, but may be beyond help, so alternate markings allowed.
5. Build as many kits as you wish, but only 1 ribbon will be awarded per person.
6. Dioramas welcome but not required.
5. Most important rule of any Reg Campaign, have fun, enjoy your build, share your progress with us all.
Timing, I'm thinking of starting May 1, 2011 and 8 months run time, finishing December 31.
How does that fit with you lot ? My only concern, as stated earlier in the thread, is that I am not fully up with what is a re-pop, but I'm sure we can look at each proposed kit and make a ruling !!
Cheers, D

D, generally good but I'm counting down the minutes till Tomcat reminds us that campaigns should only be 6 months long. In that case I'm for July-Dec.
That gives me about 10 months to create a space large enough for a B-17.

No he won't as I'll remind you that it should be 6 months instead D, generally good but I'm counting down the minutes till Tomcat reminds us that campaigns should only be 6 months long. In that case I'm for July-Dec
Due to the amount of campaigns starting between February and June this would have to be towards the end of the year so the July-December time frame will fit in nicely.

Hi all. I have had a couple of requests to resurrect this Campaign for 2012. The build dates will be advised by the higher authorities, but what does everybody think of the most recent version of the rules proposal ?

I think you're trying to post this picture, yes?
The "obvious repop" would be this one.

I knew you would be in Jesper, you have approximately 80% of the worlds supply of Matchbox kits in your stash !!
Naseby, as I stated earlier in the thread I am certainly no expert on the origins of kits, and so I am happy to defer to those with the knowledge. If the concensus is that the kit is re-popped from Matchbox molds, then I am happy for it to be accepted.

Sorry for the pictures, dont know what happened there, but I made pictures of the sprues instead. As You can see from the pictures and from the link attached these are clearly the Matchbox PK 105 Sprues, only the word "England" is cut out. I will also ignore the new Revell decals and rather put samothing together from older matchbox and other leftovers.

Hi all.....I would like to make this my first campaign, basically because it is so far in the future that it feels non-threatening! How quickly time will move on.....
Not sure what I'll be building yet...maybe the Coastal Command Halifax, but possibly the Heinkel He 70 Blitz. I do have a few Matchbox kits lying about, but most of them are armour rather than wingy things....might have a dig about and see what else is in there. Just remembered there is the Me 410, but I built a 210 just last year, so we'll do something different. And the Bf 109E....choices choices.

I found these two while I was on vacation this past week. They'd make a nice change of pace for completely out of the box builds. No aftermarket, no AMS, no scratchbuilding.

We were official anyway as we had 10 interested before the campaign was submitted (heck I've seen campaigns in the past that had more than 10 interested made official and then only 6 or 7 sign up)We have 11 enlisted, we are OFFICIAL. Thanks all for your support.

As for the ribbon I was going to design one this weekend using the matchbox logo but it looks like you had the same idea as me and beat me to it
