I just just took a rather nervous pass on an all-resin 1/48th MPM Me-323 on EBay... Nose, center wing and cowlings actually appeared to be quite good, but alignment problems and the all-resin construction just scared me at the $541 winning bid price... Would love to see you try that one: 44" inch span!

Well, I'm back, and have been sneaking time at the bench over the last several weeks. Take it away, Hauptmann Hannah!

Again, and again... for how long you'll make it just perfect!!! Some very nice tricks there, too. I see that you are using Radu's riveter. I prefer the smaller one, but I just wanted to let you know that he made one for corners and hard to reach places, which you might find useful as well... check out his page.

Furthermore, those resin bubbles can be quite anoying. I found it easier to use dilluted Vallejo's plastic putty (which is actually an acrylic paste). There is also very interesting material that you can find in any artist shop... The brand is called Liquitex modelling paste, and it does the trick very nicelly.

Got a little bench time in- I'll let the Hauptmann take over!

Chuck something I have come across is reusable hand warmers. My wife picked up two of these chemical wonders at a medical show advertised as stethoscope warmers (wonders never cease), these would be ideal for warming specific resin areas to straighten the dreaded warping out. It’s a small heavy plastic sack with the chemicals and a metal popper inside, you pop the popper to cause the reaction and place in boiling water for 10 minutes to recharge them for future use, another plus is that the chemical when activated goes from a liquid to a solid and so conforms to the surface it is applied to.
