Waiting for paint to dry so I thought I'd finish the instrument panel before I went to bed. There are a few very tiny decals but they really add to the realism. In the last picture, the panel is leaning against the eraser of a pencil so you can see how tiny some parts are. Wingnuts rule!

Excellent work so far Mark, your wood is very good. The instrument panel is brilliant, very well done. Looking forward to the next lot of progress photos.

Des.

Hi Mark!
I like what you are doing!
I, too, have a dumb question: what is "Japanese Drier"?

Thank you, keep on the good work!

Ciao

Thanks Des and Edo. Japan Drier speed up the drying time of oil paint and also thins it down a little. It usually dries overnight.

Thanks everyone. Here's a little more work on the fuselage interior. I've used Microsculpt's Woven Linen Fabric decals on the visible linen interior parts and have added stitching to see how they looked, although most will be covered up by internal structures.

I've never really cared for the way this particular aircraft looks, but your build is looking beautiful and I would have to say that I wouldn't mind having one in my display.

Hi Mark:

Nice touch with the fabric and the stiching. Sadly, as you say most of it will be covered, but enough is visible to be noticed. Looking forward to more.

Thanks Jeremy, Terri and Mark.

Edo - the stitching is "Part" from Poland PE. Just thought I'd try out some new things I've bought on a build.

The microsculpt decals really look good for linen. I have used them a few times, and I am really impressed by them. The stitching is something I have not used yet. I really like how it looks on this build. Good job, Mark.

Thanks Carl. The linen texture decals really set it off. I'll definitely be buying more of them from Microsculpt.

I've rigged the rudders for the pilot and observer....................

And have put eduard turnbuckles on the ends of the pilots rudder bar......

the turnbuckle ends will stick out ot the side of the fuselage to accept rigging for the rudder..................

Hi Mark:

That really clears up the purpose of that slot. I will have to put the turnbuckle in the slot as it was unclear what that slot was for and how the rigging was to be attached.

Thanks Keith and Mark! I'm having a ball with the kit!

Here's a little progress on the interior port fuselage.............

I've added tubing for wire guides for the incidence adjuster cables......

And engine control linkages....................................

Mark, simply beautiful work! No deficiencies but may I make one suggestion? Simulate the wood structure attachment points with black fittings. These are the upper & lower longerons vs the vertical rib stations. Though the flooring may hide the lower longeron & lower end of the rib station fittings.

Hi Stephen, thanks for the compliment. I had thought about doing that but I was amazed to find the only fittings I could see in the datafile were tiny "L" brackets holding the ribs to the longerons. It looked like the most of the internal structure was held together with wood dowels somehow. The picture is just a test fit and I was thinking of scribing in lines where the pieces of wood connect to break it up a little. Quite a bit is hidden by the floor and decking. Do you have any interior photographs that could clear that up for me?

That looks excellent so far - I was tempted with that linen myself!

This model should be on my next to-do list, but I want to make a Colonial DH.9 and am waiting for someone to do some stickers to suit!

Anyone know of there are any planned?

Beautiful interior Mark – it really looks like it could work for real

Very neat solution to the wire guides – One that ı'll store for future use.
