Hi All,

After leaving the Orange for almost 2 days, I've test fitted, the tail sections to give an idea of their appearance {will be removed}, for the masking prior to the fuselage painting.

More to follow later.

Mark,
Thanks for the comment on the painting progress and nice progress on your 'Office'.

Lower surface is Neutral Grey and the Upper surface is painted in toned up shade adding Sea Grey to the Neutral Grey that was let over. All masking tape is removed and ready for the masking for the Insignia Blue section.

I've been working on this one when I really should be building other things (Have two groupbuild elsewhere finishing in the next week and only one of the three kits is on schedule)

But it's starting to look like a proper lawn dart

Since I flew through the B-25 I have some spare time before the start of the Midway Campaign, So, I thought I'd try my hand at building another F-16 to add to my collection. This will be a good practice piece to keep trying at making pre shading pop. I just cant seem to get the desired effect! I recently stopped by a friend, aka my dealer (of fine resin products) who works at a hobby store and has a massive collection of kits he was looking to thin. So my kit for this build is the Hasegawa F-16 Block 50. I did up the cockpit yesterday, and pre-shaded this morning before work.

Hi All,

Some good subjects being started here.

I've done a little more progress on my build and it's back to gluing plastic now.

The Insignia Blue, Insignia Red and Insignia Yellow have been painted to there respective areas, the nose will be RAF Ocean Grey, where as the remainder of the bird is Neutral Grey and Dark Grey. Insignia White was used on the under carriage legs, while Flat White was used in the wheel bays.

More to follow later.

Hello Guys,
Here is my entry to the Fighting Falcon campaign. I used Hasegawa’s 1/48th F-16C and Two Bobs Arctic Bandits decals.

Over all the kits builds great, however I did have one large gap to tend to. In most of my builds I try to stay away from putty. I like to fill the gaps using sheet plastic.

99% of my aircraft are displayed in-flight. I also had some problems with the fit of the wheel bay doors. I glued then in and used super glue to fill in gaps followed by sanding and re-scribing in the bay door lines.

Next the paints were applied, FS36118, FS36628 and FS37030. These were Model Master paints. I then gloss coated with Pledge floor wax, decaled and a light oil wash finished of using Testors dull coat from the can.

I just need to finish off a few small details like nav lights, drop tanks and such then I will call this one finished.

More to come.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

Hey guys,
Here is my finished Falcon. I have to say I’m no fan of the F-16 nor will I ever, I don’t know what it is about it…

I finally had some time off to finish my 1/72 Hasegawa kit, and I must say I enjoyed this build much more than the 1/72 Italeri that I built last fall. It is fun to compare kits side by side, as I have picked up a lot of useful pointers off this site. Like any Hasegawa kit, this pretty much just fell together. I had one problem, one of the supports to the landing gear struts was rather brittle, and snapped when I removed it from the sprue, so I used some stretched sprue on either side to give it its rigitity back, and away we went. I also purchased the Pro Modeler wash, and used it on here, but am anxious to try it on a larger subject. I think I have a 1/48 harrier in the stash just begging to be grimed up.

I picked up a Tamiya ANG F-16C, hope to have a better build experience with it than my last 1/48 aircraft.

Hey Mark,
I keep seeing people having an actual texture on their seats. How do you get the effect? Kinda new at the whole adding detail, and I am wondering how people do it. I am getting a bit sick of seeing just a plastic look on my kits.
