Right guys and gals I have a proposal for a campaign, Anything Goes.
Pretty much what it says on the tin, a campaign where you can build any aircraft/ helicopter you want, any scale, colour scheme etc you want.
The idea behind this a lot of people do builds on the forums that may not fit into a live campaign and they do not wish to wait for a campaign to start up. As there are no restrictions to what can be built for this one it may open the door for people that might not normally partake in the campaigns.
Also it means no purchasing a model to tie in with the campaign (ok I can not be the only person on the forum that buys a model specifically for the campaign you have enlisted in because you like the sound of the campaign) so you can build something from the stash.
Like I said just a suggestion what do you think?

I don't think I have anything in the stash to fit this one.
I guess I'll just have to go out and buy something.

So all we need is are some campaign dates.
I have a Monogram B-25 that I've been planning to build as a cut-away for years. I missed the 1/48 Scale Campaign, but it would fall into this one for sure! Or like you said, any kit on the shelf that strikes my fancy when the campaign goes! That's awesome. I seem to have a habit of over-researching so I'm tired of a project before it begins. I need to do more pick-it-up-and-go projects. Anything Goes should accomplish that!
Did I make any sense just now?

Yep Jonathan thats pretty much the idea behind this one something that you were planning on building anyway thats not for a campaign. Was thinking this sort of campaign may get more people involved and lots of models built and displayed on the galleries/ forums

I'm sure I'd have a plane for this.
I'll just hold off naming it until after the campaign is started.

Yes you did Sean I really wanted to try and do a just build whatever you want for yourself type campaigns I know alot of time can be spent researching etc for other campaigns which in itself is really good fun but with this its just a get on and build whatever.
Date wise looking at what we have got kicking off it will be next year Jan already has a few starting what about February? What does everyone think if this? Would be the usual 6 months.
Im counting 7 yes for the campaign so far 3 more and I'll get it submitted

count me in sam!
I've got no end of tasty stuff in the stash, and by the end of this year i should have finished all the half started stuff that's been taunting me for years!
i will then have a strict "finish one-start one" policy when building models.
we'll see how long that actually lasts!

Nice to see more interest
I think my only problem will be deciding which kit of the many I have to build for this one. I think mine might be grab one on the start date and see what happens. Think it should make a change for me from planning what the model is I am doing a few months in advance or ear marking a specific kit.

Hey Sam,
I'm in. Haven't picked a kit to half-finish for this one yet but...
Just a thought: For those overachievers in the campaign, what do you think about designing a ribbon with additional stars or something to signify additional builds. As an example: Damian takes a week of vacation from work, Tells the Wife that he's going on a "business trip", and goes to a hotel for a weeks worth of model binge. He cranks out 3 kits for this campaign so he gets a ribbon with 2 stars (I don't know too many of us that would spend a week away from everything building models but hey, it could happen).
While I'm pretty sure I'll never be the recipient of a star on a campaign ribbon, there are those of us out there with no Wife, kids, home and vehicle maintenance issues, other hobbies, social obligations, etc. that could conceivably crank out some drastic plastic in 6 months.
Just a thought,
Charlie

Its the same ribbon for all and only one per person. We can only have one ribbon for the campaign its all the system allows, this has always been the case since I joined Kitmaker.
Nice to have you on board Jesper

Im also not going to select a kit prior to the start date. I may have some thoughts about it prior, but im not going to commit to one until the start date. Should be interesting to see whats my particular interest at the time. Im hoping... I have enough variety in the stash to not feel "compelled" to buy a kit for the campaign. (Fingers crossed)
