Warren, when it comes to advanced years, I'm really getting up there myself. Just turned 66.

Finished...

Oh and I found the tailwheel.. it had never been removed from the sprue..
Like most Special Hobby kits the sprues are not crowded and it was out on an end.
Great campaign! If I get some more time later I may build another version of the DB-8A.
Cheers

Hi Brent.
Those bright orange triangles would have made great targets for the Germans!
"Vas ist das 'neutral'?" (Sorry for those out there who can speak German as I wouldn't have a clue.

Just checked the campaign gallery, and only 4 people have posted finished models out of the approx. 30+ members who signed up. I was sure hoping to see a lot more finished models from members who prefer not to post their progress in the campaign thread.

Then a little black

A but of tweeking with aggressor gray and rust

Now that is a handy trick! Would you be willing to do a "How To" article on doing exhaust stains like that?

Mike, that is a really cool method for the exhaust staining.
I knew my DC-3 paint scheme would be a complicated choice. As usual, I failed to think it through properly. Now I realize I'm probably approaching it butt backwards.
The silver for the sides and wing tops should have gone on first. The thought of perhaps using foil for the silver parts confused my normal approach. Not using the foil, though. So now I have to tough my way through.
Now matter, the paint job is hardly a great effort. It will have to be cleaned up anyway. I'll mask her and apply the silver, then redo the green trim. Light grey undersides will complete the main paint.

That's really pretty. It looks almost brand new, especially since there's no oil dripping out of the engine yet

Well done.
