For the most part, building vac and resin kits is seen as a dark art, practised by only a select few who have mastered their mysteries. I think that's unfair so I propose a build which will challenge people to step up and tackle a kit which will stretch their skills. Any kit, any subject, any scale whose primary construction relies on vacuform, resin or a combination. Conversion kits for injection moulded subjects would be permitted as long as the conversion is major; i.e. replacing 50% or more of the base kit.
What say ye, Aeroscalers?

Hi Jessica,
It's a wonderful suggestion. I don't have much time at all these days, and I am quite away from the bench. However, depending on the date of the campaign, I might consider joining in. There are still plenty models to finish, but I have some wonderful vacs in the stash. Will keep an eye on this thread!
All the best,
Entoni

I think the real thing had serious shape issues!
Way beyond my sculpting capabilities. If this Campaign flies Jess I will be there as I just won a number of vacforms on Ebay or I have quite a number of resin kits that need some build time as well.
Cheers

Count me in, got no kits and just turned down a SeaFox cos it looked like too much work. Still, I enjoyed the last vacform (Varsity) I did.

Sounds like a good build. I have a Welsh Models resin Canadair CC-109 Cosmopolitan. If it starts mid summer 2014 I'm in.

Don't miss filling in the door outlines. I didn't do that on mine, and the decal outlines definitely do not fit. While I'm at it, you may wish to replace the decals; the grey they're printed on definitely doesn't match 501-109 and they're so fragile they'll tear if you look at them cross-eyed. Look closely at the rear fuselage for the door outline that shouldn't be there.

Time for a Bump!

Two questions?
1 - What is a bump?
2 - How many people have shown interest in this campaign?

A 'bump' brings the thread back to the top of the forum where it can be seen among the active threads again.
We have 9 people interested and one possible. This campaign is very close to meeting the requirements for proposal. Do I have another brave vic^Wvolunteer?

Any more builders interested in this campaign. I for one would like to see it go ahead and be officially started even if later this summer.

I've built only 2 vacforms, a 1/72 Varsity and a 1/144 Hastings, I'd build another any time, it isn't easy and needs more care prepping parts but results are very satisfying.

Brace yourselves.
This campaign is APPROVED!
You can enlist here.
I notice Jessie suggested a little longer than usual on this one, and I agree. Sorry the start date is out so far, there have been a lot of new campaigns lately.
Anyway, this should be a very interesting campaign. My only issue with it is whether I need to join up myself!

suits me. I tend to over commit, or rather, I can't turn down work, and that can seriously eat into my play time.
couple of candidate projects
two different Electra's, one Welsh, and one "jewel like models", one Northwest red tail, and one Western indian head.
a very interesting Y-Kraft / Airalex Viking
whole bunch of little Anigrand kits.
and some completed ones

Of course you do! Listen to all those vac and resin kits in your stash. They're all calling out to you. They're saying "build meeeeee!"
