Good choice of colour for the fuel tanks. I typically use british crimson by model master. Its a good colour for miscellaneous bits to break up all the black and silvers without getting silly

Hi Matt, yes the red was a better choice and it does break up the silver orgy. I used Lifecolor German hull red with a drop or two of brown added but basically you can use any hull or brick red.

Hi Joel,
Thanks, I am a bit further now actually. Wings are sealed up and the fuselage has been fitted. very few seams to worry about so everything was lined up perfectly apparently
It's a big bird with a lot of internal detail. It would be a shame not to cut chunks out of the airframe to show whats happening inside IMHO.

Thanks Matt,
I think you will enjoy this model when you get around to building it. There is so much detail to work on,

Thanks Russell,
It's a beast of a kit, really huge. The pace should settle down a bit now though. I have some idea's on how I want to display the Tiffie so that should slow things down.
How did you enjoy Ricciardo's drive last Sunday? I just loved the way he passed Vettel.

The progress seems to be accelerating now Julian. Thanks for the tip about the cannon barrels, I've ordered the Master set and plan to leave off the forward halves of the shrouds as this configuration was sometimes seen on early Typhoon.
Love the wing tanks by the way.

September 9th update:
The big intake,(vaguely reminiscent of Monica Lewinsky

),
has been fitted. Some sanding still needed but it came together okay:

The rest should be plain sailing

The race was way past my bedtime Julian, being a school night and all

Looks like Hamilton is on his way though...
The Tiffy's looking great!

That air intake is huge!

I hope Hamilton gets his finger out, this is the best chance he will have for a second world title.
Still sanding down the "scoop", it's working out fine though.
Rapidly approaching my usual problem: where do I put the darned thing when it's finished

It's a whopper all right. Have you tried fitting the intake cowling yet? It's like a Chinese puzzle but that's probably due to me leaving a lot of panels off. Getting there though.

Same problem I face Julian... we're building a NEW garage 'cos of it
Maybe Hamilton's in with a shot-could be his last...

Julian,
It's really starting to come together now. The cut outs really make a huge difference in displaying all that fantastic internal detail. And those movable trim tabs. That's new ground for me. One just never sees that especially in my chosen 1/48 scale.
Just make sure that you have more then enough paint in each color as you're going to be using quite a lot of each.
