Hi my friend, I think possibly a little bit too dirty.
Always a fine margin that you seem to be able to sense in advance. The Queen of the North is magnificent. Warren has surfaced in his usual Australian submarine fashion. Good to have him back, he does seem to keep things alive, ( but I would never admit this to him ).
I enjoyed the photos on the "Grey Wolves" pages, thank you for posting them in South America.

Julian,
Outstanding.

All the various elements are really coming together nicely now. Not to much longer and you'll be crossing the finish line. BTW, those rockets look nearly perfect once viewed in their proper scale with the typhoon.

Brilliant work Julian

Really gives it a sense of scale and just how big this is now it's out on the table

Now that is looking good Julian I like the fact that you painted the rocket warheads with the correct fill bands, the light green one is missing though, see the ones on the decal sheet for the bombs, there are none for the rockets? British ordnance used green rather than yellow, many get this wrong. I am just about to embark on trying to produce masks for the fill bands on my rockets! I'm undecided as to whether to have all SAP or 50-50 SAP and HE, as they sometimes carried a mix.

Hi Julian, I think the 'grubbiness ' is about right especially around the cannon access panels. I don't think the 'erks' spent a lot of time polishing aircraft in Normandy in 1944.
Nearly there

Thanks Mal, I passed on the green bands. This is fine by me,

October 6th update:
Not World shaking progress but it looks nice so why not pop up a pic? The windshield frame looks a bit gappy but that will be fixed with Kenny's wonder liquid: Gator grip Glue which is also great for gaps:

Great work grem, how many hours is this now???

How did you get the little patchy silver wear marks on the steps where the pilot would enter?

Hi Si,
really couldn't tell you how many hours, build started July 31st. I try and grab some time each day but I don't bother recording how long,(my bank account and Visa card tell me how much I spend ).
The silver scratches? these were made with a scrap of sponge with aluminium paint. removed and toned down and sprayed with matt varnish to stop it hitting you in the eye.

Good morning Julian, looking good, small progress is better than nothing. On the "canopy pics", you have done, the different shades of the dark green caught my eyes again, a very nice weathering.

Hi Julian,
I think the weathering has brought out the beauty in the beast

As to cost as long as SWMBO doesn't find out

Oils washed and wiped off with some post shading along the panel lines. I was quite chuffed myself actually

Julian,
Every update just shows off all that detail better and better by being enhanced with your weathering.

October 10th update:
Not a lot of things happening to the aircraft. Canopy painted, gun bay covers in progress. More things to display the aircraft being purchased: a roll of wild grass, certainly not an "English country garden". I think it could be a simple but sexy way to display the beast:

Well Kev,
Couldn't screw up the Normandy cricket club lawn so I figured I would need a rather rustic stretch of grass to land in
