The Sabre's going to wait a little because I was given this:

As a gift, and it's mostly assembled already. Though the previous owner certainly didn't use any of the decals for the interior or paint it. I fully expect to give this the 'what if' special as usual. Those RAF and USAAF markings, though, won't be used for it - they just came in the box for some reason.

I assume this chopper will work for the campaign?

Two down, next up on the hit parade Italeri's ancient and terribly inaccurate Su 34. But I am a sucker for the new 'eggplant' paint scheme and of course 497 teeny tiny weapons decals from Begemot.

I have finally got rolling again on the Flanker Su-27. Added some “Blueish Grey” to the wheel wells and air intakes.

Got pretty much all the touch-ups and fix-ups done on the Hokum, and hoping that all the pieces are actually in the box. As you can see it's going to look substantially... different than it's supposed to once I'm done.

Hi all,

Been awhile since I made updates regarding my HQ, the 109 K.

In fact it's been stalled for about nearly 2 months just didn't had time to take photos and upload here.

In short, my attempt (or should I say lame attempt) with the masks was very frustrating. In plain surfaces, like the wings, the masks were easy to apply and the result very, very satisfying...

But on the fuselage it was an entirely different experience! No way I can get those numbers properly alligned, plus the fact that I missed the cross aligned also. A complete mess to be honest. This put me off the project and I am considering complete paint stripping (again!!) and go with another scheme, one for which I have the fuselage decals at least

So I am not a well man.
Su-34 in progress, painted, weathered and now.. Begemot Su-27 family stencils.
We all know that operatioal a/c do not sport a full stencil load, but I can't resist.

And the progress so far..

and some of the weapons stencils

unfortunately I glued on the pylons before the kit was set aside way back when, so getting hte pylon decals on will be pretty challenging. I may skip the inner face decals.

Decaling I can do at the diningroom table. No solvents, no glue and nobody else home to be in the way ( or me to be in the way of)..

end of this morning's session

shhh.. dont tell the rivet counters..
These are the stencils for the Su-33, not the -34.
But as much as is possible I am using them.
The tie-down points are probably just for the carrier operations and since the -34 has the flare launchers in a different position, I'll have to get creative there.
Begemot makes great decals, and the instructions are printed almost to scale so positioning is easy, but following all those little lines to locations.. uggghhh.

Pictures of the instructions. There are FOUR more pages for weapons and other versions, production batches.

Some more Begemot decals, and starting the two-part new stars and BBC codes.

Update on my old Club Med Campaign entry. Tail fins added, minor seam filling and test fitting canopies. This is the Sword Malta Anniversary Combo kit. Picked up some canopy masks for the Spit but the RE-2001 masking will be all from scratch (that alone might put this as an entry for Hanger Queen VI)

Cheers

Jonathan: Thanks for the invite, I will need to come up with some decals since those that were originally going to be used are AWOL.

I don't think you will have a problem with finding decals. The aftermarket is rather healthy when it comes to the Jug. Worse case you can jump over to another Kitmaker site just up you alley --> http://p47.kitmaker.net/

Hi All,

I have been M.I.A. over the past months due to a club project that we committed too, for the 2015 Melbourne Model Expo and now that is almost upon us, I can return to the work desk to finish some of these Queens.

I moved my model work desk out of the spare room of my unit and into an old Scout Hall, that has been disused for several years. Now to sort out all the plastic and boxes.

I am in with this hind on steroids. I am upgrading it with laser cannons for a tabletop strategy game.

More to follow later

@ Mike - You have my respect for that stencil work, man!
Needs some patience, doesn't it? Have fun!

Hi there,
my Jolly Green Giant is slowly nearing completion. Still needs the rear bottom ramp which will be "decorated" with a Minigun turret and gunner. Still have to fiddle that together

Peter, nice chopper and gunner:

I finally had some time to start some painting on my P-47:

another coat of neutral grey then on to the upper side.
