Hi Michael,
If no one steped forward, i would like to host next year's HQ campaing.
2 reasons for my application:
1) get to finish one of my hangar queen projects at least;
2) push me back seriously into the hobby, something that i failed to do this year.
Cheers,
Pedro
Pedro,
You're quite welcome to take it on! With your permission, I'll set it up with you as campaign leader, and thanks!
Michael

Bravo Pedro
Are we content to go on using the existing ribbon design?

Current design works for me.

With Pedro's kind willingness to take it on, Hanger Queen 6 is now APPROVED! If it just doesn't look like you're going to get it done here,
sign on up!

whoo hoo!! first to sign up...
Here is the latest on the Hasegawa F15E, with an unrealistic kit supplied load of cluster bombs and no conformal bomb racks.. shh.. don't tell the rivet counters.
I think I got stalled on this one when I found out how poor a representation this kit represents. The newer kit E29 gets more right in the pylon department, vents, wheels, etc but is still running $$$.
So I threw some Twobobs, microscale stencils, Hasegawa decals and Aim9's (those decals SU*K.. what is it about the weapons set decals that are so terrible??)
Terrible light and bad phone cam pics, but almost done.

The decals onto the last bits to add to the Strike Eagle. Here are the two pods to hang off the bottom the the F15E, from weapons set 12 (and its associated horrible decals)
On the plus side, I found the trick to Hasegawa weapons decals. Microwave the decal water for 20 seconds, put drops of water onto the cut-out decals, and walk away for 8-10 min. Sitting there poking at them is just frustrating and will end up tearing something.

Annndddd done.
I will probably leave it in gloss, makes cleaning the dust off from hanging from my classroom ceiling easier.
Thanks for the fun and motivating campaign gents. See you next year.

Thanks for the kind words. There are many many little (and not so little) flaws for sure. But like the others, it was fun to finish.
I think I will take it easy for the next couple of days, but next year...

Our own eyes are always the most critical, but it looks just fine from here. Definately a good one to look up at.
There should be a special prize for most hanger queens finished in one year! Mike, I think yours are five of the 15 (so far) completions in our gallery!
Pete Doc,. that's a fine looking model, i cant imagine what else you need to do, but its a prize winner as is.
Bill Davis,. you may have the honor of the final entry. get er done man

Pete, always loved the look of the chipped to hell Japanese ac. Interesting how the green changes tones so much when the plane is rotated 90 degrees.
Jonathan, Thanks, I did not notice until I put the gallery on 100 images per page. I guess that's part of the reason I like these shelf queen campaigns, I've got a LOT of stalled projects. I think I finished off about one a month last year. And I still have plenty for next year...

Right, I'm calling this done. Just wanted to get a light sheen on to her as she was a bit too flat. Sorry about the pic quality - I need to work on that side of things a bit. Well done & Happy New Year to all! I'm away for a beer!

And so we fondly bid adieu to 2015 and Hanger Queen V. But fear not!
Hanger Queen 6 is live already! So jump on board for 2016 everyone, and happy finishing!

Bill,
If this is your first kit back in 30 yrs, you are doing something VERY right. That's a great looking bird.
Nice work!

Mike, I have worked on models since that last model airplane in the eighties (I think it was a Ki-27). From the mid-eighties up until about the year 2000, I was heavily involved in model trains. I did a lot of custom painting, detailing, and weathering. Model trains have the most in common with model tanks, but the basic modeling skills are still there. But, it has been almost 15 years since I have built a model of any kind. It is a lot harder to assemble those little parts now than it was 15 years ago.

Bill,
Sweet work on that Ki-44! Excellent painting, and a great job of chipping! Can!t wait to see your next. Please don't make me wait 30 tears, though...lol
