Thanks Michael
Next update on the Medihawk, some cockpit fun!
I disliked the gaping hole through the lower window so i've boxed in this area.
Then i got carried away with thinking about detail (as we all do). I'm adding a few blocks of plastic to represent the rear part of the centre console. Having decided to add to the cockpit that door has got to go to allow a better view!
Much better!

I'll be jumping in with an early Chicago fire engine on a Thomas Flyer chassis. My dad and I planned this build about 30 years ago, but neither of us got too far on it. It starts with the MPC Thomas Flyer racer kit. There aren't too many prototype photos from 100 years ago, but several similar rigs that I can extrapolate from.
There's no way to finish this by Christmas for him, but definitely Fathers Day in June.
You guys are really doing well, so I intend to keep this group's momentum going soon!
Cheers,
Sean H.
By coincidence, my dad said he's getting some modeling time lately (busy retired guy), and he asked where the Thomas Flyer kit was, because he wanted to complete it. Since he bought the kit, back 20 or 30 years ago, I deferred the build back to him.
Fortunately, I have in my stash a US Coast Guard HH60J Jayhawk that needed a reason to be built, so I'll be doing that for this campaign.
Cheers!
Sean H.

Sweet, another hawk to join the flawk ! (sorry, flock )
More work on the interior - a bit more of the centre console "stuff" although i feel it's a bit too far back. I may correct this.
Starting work on the bulkhead. I had to make sure the landing gear support was attached to the interior before it gets boxed in.
So... i believe i may be getting out of my depth but i cant stop adding bits !
Putting together a few bits for the overhead consoles

Detailing again.
For the rear cabin seats i've chopped them up to represent them having been folded up. I've also cut a groove around each seat and glued in lengths of rod to look like the tubing forming the frame.
Also worked a little on the cabin floor. Sanded off most of the locating points for the unused seating and mocked up the non-slip flooring strips with my go-to solution of sticky backed foil. A little base coat gets it looking quite neat.

Nice progress Sal, it seems stretchers are the theme right now.
Here are the beginnings of mine; a little more detail and the handles on either end and they should look ok.
Also added some cushions to the sadly bare kit seats. All the black cushion panels are new bits.
Lastly, i've started adding some of the structure around the seats to add more interest. The kit seats are very very basic!
More to come soon!

As promised, further detailing madness.
Stretchers are nearly finished. These have come out quite well and i'm pleased with them. I've spent too long on these already though but since they are one of the scratch items that set this bird apart from other blackhawk types it seems worth it.
I see other little parts i could add but this is enough !!! (until i get distracted and start tinkering)
More cabin details - stowage racks behind the seats and the pilots controls added. The kit only comes with one collective so i've put it at the open door side. The other wont be visible anyway so i'm not bothering with it
A bit of a drybrush to bring out the depth and again i'm pretty chuffed how this is coming along.

Sounds tricky with the shape of the hood.... so go for it ! A new challenge is always satisfying to overcome.

Ooops, wow, didn't realise it been so long since my last post
Oliver, Nice finish on the Sea Knight
Brian, Love the little diorama, Thunderbirds are Go! My fave TV show when I was growing up, justice done.
Paul, great work on the Rescue Boat and your work on the Hawk is looking even better.
As for me? I was tempted a couple of time to chuck this one the shelf of shame but I have slowly persevered. Ended up going for a less is more look and detail hinted at is better than not built at all. Done lots of scratch in both main cabin and cockpit with a bit more to come up front (wires etc under the instrument panel). I should still be able to wrap this in time as the cabin was always going to be a big affair.

Hi Guys Thanks for the comments
So I looked through the stash and found a set of Verlinden Flags and decided to use the Red Cross Flag
The way it laid down it didnt look like a flag so I grooved the hood line to make it look painted on
also added some mud mixture as well
So Im ready to call this one finished Hope ya like

Superb! I can imagine how brave you need to be to slosh weathering all over those nice white markings!!!
Thanks for taking part, I think this has proved to be quite a diverse campaign.

"Made in Scotland"? Had a look at their site. Nice stuff! Maybe worth dropping in next time i'm in the area.
My 'hawk has been progressing slowly but surely. A couple of days of sanding and filling prep work over the past couple of weeks and I'm finally starting to get some paint on the outside!
Some masking and painting for the white squares which will hold the red crosses too. Not looking forward to masking the crosses, but painting markings is another first for me to chalk up.

Bit of shading work today. Gotta be careful not to be heavy handed and cover it all up again.

Got to get moving on this before time runs out. Painted the on-board tools and tracks. Also did a coat of Future in preparation for decals and weathering. Cheers!

Great to see some late entries guys
We've around five weeks to go but its a leap year so that one extra day in February might be crucial.
eMan, i found the airfix lifeboat a joy to put together. Hopefully your rescue launch is the same.

Here we are just about to spray the whole fuselage with future.
The windows are installed and masked in the cockpit, the rotors have had their stripes painted on and are ready to get fitted together too. Starting to bring all the separate elements together.
