Nice looking chopper so far, looking forward to it coming to life with all the detail.
Mine has been.... well it looks like it has been prepped for and has undergone surgery!
I'll let the paint dry overnight (while i'm at work, worrying about it ) and i'll reveal the results tomorrow afternoon.
Fingers crossed!

Not the perfect result, needed some touch-ups by hand but good enough. Moving on!

Some great work going on here!
Paul, your Huey is coming along nicely, looking good.
PH, that Wessex is one strange looking design, but with a 40-year plus active service history nobody can doubt its worth. You've done a really nice job on your build, congrats on getting it finished mate.
Cheers, D

Nice Wessex Pricklehead, a clean and well executed chopper!
I'm calling it a day with the Blackhawk too. In some respects this is my favourite model since returning to the hobby especially as i scratchbuilt all the medevac conversion bits but it's let down by a few sloppy areas when you look really closely.
I just noticed also that the step to enter the open cockpit door seems to have gone missing whilst finishing up...

Thanks Oliver, there have been some great and varied subjects built. We still have two weeks to go. (cant believe six months have passed so fast!)

Congrats on the completed builds PrickleHead, and to your 2nd one Paul. 2 more weeks -- Yay, better get this one moving along!
The last couple of weeks got me stuck in the decal department. Laying it on uneven surfaces has always been a challenge for me. Having the red cross on a white roundel doubled the difficulty, and as expected I screwed it up!
So I thought I'd paint them on. Dropped the roundel, went for a square white field, and confidently sprayed on. Well it looked good and sharp before I took off the masks:
Take three brings me back to the decal option then. Cut the crosses off the roundels, put in an extra bit of patience on the decal setter and softener combo, thus:
The other side's a bit so-so, but I decided to move on with it:
The crosses on the flat surfaces went on without issues:
A couple more weathering sessions and I should have this cross the finish line.
Cheers,
Tat

Paul nice finish on your Blackhawk.
Picklehead, looking good with very Yellow Wessex
Tat, that panzer should look great when finished.
My Jayhawk? Coming along almost ready for some external paint. Should have it finished in time since kits are back at school from summer holidays and no real weathering.

Getting some resin together:

Hello,
Nice ambulance jeep Gary -- that red cross on the hood sure looks familiar to me
Am calling my build complete, here's my contribution to the campaign:
In the end I left out the MG, my thinking is that ambulance / red cross vehicles shouldn't be armed. The reference pics I've seen did not have the MG as well.
It's my first completed campaign for the year, and am quite pleased to finish before the deadline. Paul, thanks for leading this and allowing me to participate.
Cheers,
Tat

Gary, very nice scene You have done there with your jeep!
Tat, very nice finishing, too. I espescially like the dirt on tracks and lower side. Are these pigments?
Oliver

Thanks Oliver.
I have yet to give pigments a try. I dry-brushed Tamiya Buff for this -- didn't notice I was using an old jar of it where the pigments were already separating. I think its because of being heavily thinned over time. It looked cool so I just went along with it. My first try at using oils for weathering -- got heavy on the browns, but it was a good learning experience for me.
Cheers,
Tat

Congrats Tat, your medic-tank looks great. We've certainly made a lot of red crosses in this campaign!
Tom, your paintjob takes me back to when I saw British army vehicles as a lad. Colours are spot on!
Richard, coming along well. Are all-resin kits much more of a handful in terms of prepping all the pieces?

Clean up on this one mostly on the pour plugs, depending on the age of the mould it can lead to a lot of flash.
Some resin models (not this one) can have issues with air bubbles.
Lack of locating pins can be a problem, I drill and add brass rod sometimes when required.
Always wash parts before painting.
