Hi Nicolas
Awesome job on the Comet!! It is a pity that the paint is taking so long to dry - do you have other options in terms of paint that might dry faster? Or is there a process that might speed up the drying time without causing any damage?
Regards,
Kobus

Hi Nico
The red paint coat looks great! Do you need to paint another red coat on the model? If not, you may still be able to finish the build before the end of the campaign.
Great work!
Have fun modeling
Mike

Nico, the Comet looks outstanding. Sorry you are having the problems with the paint not curing. A great looking build, nonetheless.
Best wishes,
Ian

Nico have you tried a lamp placed close to add some heat to help dry the paint?

Hello,
I've been painting bits and pieces of my jeepney in-between a couple of campaign builds. Finished the frame for the canopy this morning -- just need to figure out the best, workable material for the canvas top. Progress pics to date:
Toiling on to finish by the deadline.
Cheers,
Tat

I managed to cross the finish line for this build! I completed my NASA F-8C yesterday and managed to shoot a few photos for the record. Here is how the Crusader now looks on my shelf:
This has been a great Campaign! I have been inspired by the wide range of models worked on since we started. In fact, I am ready to start another "Civil" subject! I just have to narrow down my choices....
Have fun modeling!
Mike

I am going to have to pull out of this campaign. Things have cropped up and I will not be able to finish by the deadline.

Hi all,
Tat: i really like your scratchbuilt work !!!! What a transformation !
Mike: you NASA F-8 looks great, congrats for the finish !
And here are my last pics, the main paint work is about to be finished (but for the engines nacelle with which i handled the kit during the painting work, the canopy and the wheels ....).
So i won't be able to finish in time (i'll try but i don't want to waste the whole job on this kit to be faster):
cheers
nico
PS: i did not used lights or hair drier to fasten the paint work, i was to afraid to make the kit melted !!!!

Thanks Nico, greatly appreciate that!
I share your pain on glossy coats. Having a bit of a challenge finishing on time as well -- had to redo the canopy.
Richard, would you be amenable to an extension, say a week more?
Cheers,
Tat

I would be open to a one week extension, it would give me a chance to finish my entry

Hello,
I originally planned to depict a canvas / soft top that outlines on the frame underneath. Had difficulty with foil so I went for epoxy putty:
Spent a bit of time shaping and sanding, but in the end I was not quite happy with the result. Need to get more practice on this part.
With a few days before the original deadline I went off to build another -- this time depicting a hard top:
Side by side with my inspiration for the build:
I'm calling this one finished. Quite happy on new things I learned -- mostly on scratching parts of the build.
Richard, thanks for having me on this campaign, most especially the extension to get this one cross the line!
Great builds, congrats to all participants and finishers!
Cheers,
Tat
