Well, I’m in with a Revell Halifax Mk. II. It will be finished as my great uncle’s plane from 419 squadron, RCAF. It was shot down in April 1943, he was the only survivor. And, if I can sort out how to link a pic from my Flickr account, I’ll put one up! Sorry for all the deleted posts previously.

The Bristol is started and not a bad kit. Only I am not a fan of no locating pins so I added some plastic card to help with aligning the fuselage.

The Bristol Bombay is no longer in the campaign, I just dropped it while answering the phone and stepped on the model. Not much to salvage.

So! I will order another kit (not sure what yet) and continue.

That’s disappointing to say the least. Sheer bad luck Bob, your Bristol was going very well, and given the fact that probably no one else will build one, it was an unique opportunity for us to see that kit built.
Hope your next bomber project runs luckier

Aw Geez, spif happens. Know the feeling. Sprayed a bunch of xylene onto a paper towel the other day while cleaning out my airbrush, then set the side of my in-process Boeing 314 clipper onto the towel. Melted little clots of paper towel into the fuselage.

I'm very sorry for your bomber, Bob. Last time I dropped a model was when I was still a kid, but then I dropped all of them, along with the shelf and fish tank. Nothing survived. A heartbreaking blow.

Update on my Lancaster: I am very slow to start due to holidays, but now I'm ready to put the fuselage together. The set gives me option to build version B.III or B.1 (which oddly enough is a later version). B.III is a night bomber in Europe, B.1 is in Far East markings. I have decided to go with yet another option: late version B.1 in European night bomber camouflage with No. 300 (Polish) RAF Sqn markings. I hope you won't mind another Lancaster in similar colours. I don't own an aerograph, and I have learned the hard way how imposibly difficut it is to brush paint large surfaces with white or yellow, so I have decised to go with European theatre.
So far everything goes very nice, parts are very good quality. The interior has some great detail straight out of the box. The only disappointment was that there is only 1 figurine in the set out of 7 crew members. I really like to put people inside, but it made little sense to insert pilot and leave other seats empty, so I decided on an empty plane that would look like it is parked, so maybe some day I would be able to add some ground crew and refuelling truck or something like that.

Here are some pictures of the cabin before I seal the fuselage.

Well I'm well on my way with the He177 I've got the majority of the kit assembled with just a couple of finishing touches to be added before I seal up the cockpit. One major disappointment has been the rather poor clarity of the clear parts. Dipping in future did little to help with this. Very little can be seen through the front glazing with the windows and top of the canopy being a little better. I can see what appear to be lines caused by the plastic not being hot enough or the moulds being rather cold when the clear parts were cast. I'd be keen to hear what the quality of the clear parts is like for those of you with this kit in their stash. So I can see if it's an isolated event or a common problem. I've sourced RLM 72, RLM 73 and RLM 65 from Vallejo to use when I paint this bird I'm interested to see how they come out.

Now that looks like an interesting kit! Not sure if it reminds me of A wellington or a Mitchell.

Chris, it does seem to resemble those other a/c. Ive started on the interior and when I started on the wings I forgot to add the resin wheel well in on side. Here I was able to slide it through the open area and align then attach with CA,

Aw gee, I gotta get to mine. Been tied up with the Airfix Boeing Model 314, but that's starting to get close to paint. Haven't completely decided between the Airfix A-20C of the Airfix B-26B.

I have that kit, inherited it from my dad's stash. Checking the canopy pieces I cannot see anything wrong. They are clear and transparent except for one piece. It is the U-shaped part with square windows in it. All windows are nice, but the middle one is is very foggy for some reason, everything behind it sems blurred. I don't know if it's supposed to be like that or if it is a molding defect. Then there is the big hemispherical part, it gives a bit distorted look, but I guess this would be nothing unexpected.

As usual Chris you are progressing swiftly and efficiently. That 177 is looking pretty good. Will you give it one of those wellenmuster camouflages?

Bob, you just jumped from an odd subject to another. That Fokker is really one of a kind. Keeping an eye on your updates for sure.
I’m planning to begin my Ju 188 within a few weeks, Still have a couple of projects at my bench and want those completed first. The 188 will be a rather heafty build so need to get all cleared first.

Cheers

Some progree photos on my Lancaster. It's taking shape slowly. I am quite amazed at the size of it. The stabilizers alone are the size of Bf-109 wings. I run across some unexpected trouble while assembling wings. I am not used to such enormous parts and by the time I finished applying glue, it was already dry where I started. Kit quality is great. Probably best wing fit of all models I've built so far.

Shrimpman, WOW! that wing spar system looks like it will hold those big wings.

A little more progress on the Fokker.

The Cowling is PE and was the easiest Ive ever done.
