Carlos , beautiful work on your Bf109 G6, Tamiya 1/72
Torsten , thank you yes, there's nothing quite like a silver Spitfire, hopefully we can see yours built one day
Bob that's a great rendition of a P51-A
Michael , come on, you can do it
Rory , Thank you, final reveal coming up
Ok, I'm calling Airfix's 1/72 F Mk22 Spitfire done! And just in time too!
More pictures in My Aircraft Hangar Collection
Overall, this is a nice little kit from Airfix and has some really nice features, fine trailing edges and panel lines appropriate for its scale
To finish off the kit I went with a very light weathering as this Mk didn't see any action as such. To seal it all in I went with a 25% Satin to 75% gloss coat. I wanted it to be shiny but not so shiny as to cause undue reflections.
I'm generally happy with the result and this is another out of the stash and into the display cabinet.
Thanks to Michael for hosting a great campaign

Russell, beautiful Spitfire. It looks like the perfect level of shineness from here. (Airfix Spitfire for the wishlist.)

1/72 Tamiya Bf 109G-6. Gotta love those Wilde Sau schemes. Again, some airbrush and weathering experiments performed! Thanks for the opportunity! Enjoy.....

Inching up on the finish line. All of the decals on, just gotta add the fiddly bits and clear coat.

Look Ma, I finished a campaign!
1/48 Tamiya P-51C with Jaguar interior and Three Guys decals.
That decal sheet is 24 years old and performed flawlessly. I'm sorry those guys are out of business.
A couple of more days to go, everyone!

And I have no idea why everyone's posts in this thread (including mine) are suddenly in italics. Technology, who knows?

Sneaking up on the finish line.
Most of the fiddly bits are in place, clear coat is curing. Just gotta peel the masking and add the opened canopy.
Neat scheme there Michael.
Raj, Jim mentioned a while back that the galleries are the fuse for system overload, they stop responding first, until the traffic drops off. Try again after a few minutes.

Russell & Mark
Thanks for the heads up. I finally managed to upload a pic to the campaign gallery. Turns out, the photo uploader wants to maintain social distancing between the pictures and wasn't letting me upload more than one picture at a time.
Cheers

one at a time is one of it's 'quirks'. Size is another one, it quietly rejects any image over 3 Mb. It sez it accepted it, but nothing happens. Get them under the limit and after it sez it accepted them it brings them up and gives you a chance to annotate them before it actually processes and save them.

Slipping across the finish line.
Academy's 1/72 P-51C Red Tails.
I did build it without the Jeep.
Turns out this is my 7th finish of the year. I guess something good is coming out of this lockdown.

Time to wrap this one up. A very impressive 76% of enlistees have successfully completed the campaign, so congrats and thank you to all who participated! Ribbons have been awarded so if you didn't get one and think you should have, let me know.
See you around the site(s)!
