Ezra, I think that I will take your advice and test it out on a section.

Nice I hope it works! If you want a more detailed description of that check out the Takeoff models video of his A-36 Apache.

Greetings everyone,

Amazing builds in this campaign that I have been following for some time. I wasn't planning to join in but I couldn't resist yesterday to start the Tamiya Bf109.

I am not sure I will have time to finish it on time but here we go:

I did a dry fit yesterday, that is the best fit in any model I have ever build.

Carlos.

Nice job Peter. I love the Polish P-51's. Is there a book that outlines their missions in that a/c?

Very nice work, everyone!

Some progress on the Tamiya P-51B:

I think I've mentioned this before. I hate trying to clean up that seem below the intake!

That Jaguar set really does dress up the interior.

Michael, that is a sweet cockpit A/M set. What red did you use on the wing tips and tail?

Thanks, Bob, but I'm sorry, I don't know about such a book. So maybe Google or amazon can help...?
Cheers

A while back I decanted some Tamiya Italian Red with plans to use it on Thunderbird aircraft as it's very close to Insignia Red. I used that.

Michael, thanks for the information.

Just a note: I am not able to access Aeroscale or any of the Kit Maker Network sites after 1000pm Central Stranded time for a week now.

My computer just displays my face page. If I go to any other site it comes up immediately.

OK, a strange question for all of you inline engine fighter builders. Like Carlos' Me 109, my P-51 has a post for the propeller to mount on so my usual trick of a skewer up the propeller hole won't work. So how do you hold these birds when you're trying to paint the whole plane it once?

Mark, I paint the prop and spinner separate from the body.

OOPS! I reread your post. I use a cake lazy Susan.

So does that mean you paint 'half' the plane let it get somewhat dry and then flip it over and do the other 'half'? I was hopeing to et one continuous coat on the whole plane at once.

Hi, I encounter similar problems. When I want to access "My Photos" or even only the gallery of KM, it says at once, "Server busy, try again later"

And none of my images show up in any of my posts, just an empty icon!

Yeah Bob, I've got the same paint stained turntable. I worry about touching the paint too soon and getting different hues between spray passes.

The higher ups have been notified about the gallery issues. Hopefully repairs will come soon.

Yes, this problem occurs everywhere around the globe at the moment. Maybe this will answer some of your questions, especially the post from Tom (barkingdigger):
https://archive.kitmaker.net/forums/285795&page=1

I also read somewhere, that the Kitmaker Gallery is closed down for a while because of that server issues. So you're probably not able to upload photos for some time.

I had the same problems with all Kitmaker sides earlier this week but at the moment it works fine for me over here in Germany.

Happy Sunday and happy modelling!

If the model is small and there is a rod for the propeller I use a mechanical pencil. This is the case with my tiny 1/72 bf109:

In a larger model I paint bottom half first and top half after.

I finished with the cockpit this morning. I am really pleased so far, plenty of time for cock-ups later on....

By the way, I have put the model together in no time and I haven't used any putty yet... This model is incredible.

Carlos.
