Now a model of this would be kind of cool.
Andy, take a look at
Mach 2. I think I saw one at my LHS some time ago. Don't know if a 1/48 version is available though...

Thanks Jean-Luc, they have got quite an interesting range of aircraft there, shame they are all in 1/72, ( still might get one though).

Andy, Mach2 kits will surely test your modelling skills.... make sure you pick up some sandpaper, extra filler, and a bottle of scotch.....

Hi All,
Is it my turn to post a question? If so, I ask, which country has the highest proportion of aces to overall population?

Just a wild guess... Finland?

Dave,
Sweden has not been to war since 1814, when we wacked Norway...
Even though some Swedish fighter pilots have flown combat missions for Finland (which I believe is the right answer), Ethiopia and the UN (Saab J 29 Tunnan was employed in Congo during the 60's and shot down the Katangeese airforce), there has not been too many Swedish Aces!
:-) :-) :-)
Cheers!

Jean-Luc,
Snap-shot, direct hit!
Me thinks you read through the Finnish A.F. history link in the
Fighters Under the Midnight Sun campaign!
I should have known that the campaign might give it away, otherwise I think it would have been a dificult question
What new question have you for us?
See you soon,

Hi Fred!
I must confess, I didn't read the link
I just guessed because you are in a finnish mood actually! :-)
Here's the next one. Rowan being away, maybe it will last a little longer as usual...
What's the name of this "weirdo"?
I'm wondering if this one will make it to next year!? :-)

Jean-Luc,
You show no confidence! I'm sure that one of us is going to solve this nut before 2006!!
:-)
Here's my guess. - The corrugated surface screams Junkers. I now that Junkers made one (1) A50 with a single wheel (but I have never seen any pictures of it). Could this be it?!
Cheers!!

Yah, sometimes also called A60 - I was too late on this one again...

:-) I was going to say Junkers also.... but couldn't think of a Junkers plus model number.....

Hi Björn!
You guys are incredible! I came across this picture at E-bay. Someone sold the original of it! It's indeed a Junker A50 fitted with a single wheel for tests... I've never heard of that before! As I said before,
never underestimate the power of Armorama!Anyway, it's your turn to ask the question that could make it until next year!

Got'ya! :-)
It's still 2005!
Let's stick with the somewhat odd and obscure. What's this then?

Does this come from the Thunderbirds TV serie? :-)

Nope, Jean-Luc! LOL :-)
Unlike the object of your previous question, this aircraft was actually produced in no less than three (3) individuals!!!
NB: I have to prepare for a new year's party, so if you wish to crack this one before 2006, you've got approx two hours from now!
Ps: The shape of the air intakes
might reveal the aircraft that was later developed from this prototype...

Perfect answer!! There were three prototypes that led to the Saab J35 Draken (Dragon). This was one of them.
Welcome to Armorama, Lena!
I'm glad that you got it before the new year. The reason why I chose this question was that it was 50 years ago(1955!!!) that the Saab J35 Draken was taken into service. Imagine that this futuristic looking plane was on the drawing board already in 1949!
Over to you, Lena!
And to finish of the year, here's some new year's rockets for the rest of you!
Ps. I'm particularilly thrilled that my last question during 2005 was answered correctly by my bestest buddy from Monsters Inc!

Hmmm...I just built a 1/100 Drakken. Should I post a pix of it?

Happy new year everyone
Here is the first question for 2006.
The Blohm und Voss Bv.138 flying boat had an unflattering unofficial nickname. What was it?
Good luck

I found three nicknames, presumably one is right.
The flying shoe
The flying clog
The flying sabot
