Greetings all;
Here is a bit of fun and cause for contemplation. The Hecker & Goros figures of Ltn. Werner Voss and his mechanic Gefr. Timm. Voss figure has acquired a new head from Microsculpt. What are your favorite figures? I think it is a unique situation that these figures need an aircraft or at least a portion of an aircraft in the picture to put them into context.

Here after a harrowing escape our hero Col. "Biggles" Camelhill dismounts the shattered remnants of the captured Fokker D.VII that he was moments before stunting for the Ladies Bunt Wrapping auxilary of Shropshire and lower Unkford. It seems the daring young Colonel flew the German Fokker a bit too close to some power lines, shearing off his wings but never the less landing unscathed in time for tea.

Copper State Models 1/48 Allied pilot figure.

I really like this idea for a display Stephen. Nice job.

Hi Stephen
They look excellent. Can you give more information about where they are available to buy? - my web-search for the companies came up blank.
All the best
Rowan
PS - Darn it! I KNEW there'd be some joker around with a camera when I pranged that Fokker...

Hi Rowan!
I think
this is what you are looking for. I have their catalogue if you want more info.
These are nice figures... but expensive (15€ for two usually)

Hi Jean-Luc
that is not correct! A two figure set is 10 € BTW I was told you can order directly from the site of Max and Otto
http://www.hecker-goros.de/ (your address is a bit older...)
I do not know about p&p
some examples of the outstanding dio work (I do not know who of the two is the dio builder, but he is great -- all 1/48 IIRC)

sadly the figures are a bit large .... especially if used with other brands ... the 1/72 stuff is also very nice.
cheers

Hi Steffen!
Thanks for the update! I should update my links more often!
As for the price, I bought mine at a LHS and paid 15€ for them. If you buy two directly, you still have to pay postage I think. So in fact, the price must be between 10 and 15€. Still expensive. But the figures are outstanding!

Here the oily fingered brethren of Jasta 15 fein work at the bone yard and post watch, while Gefr. Muller opens the crate of "liberated" wine from the local Abby.

Figures are from Copper State Models.

Hi Stephen
I love it! How come my erstwhile Germanic counterpart - Haupt. Bavernfüss - still looks like he's thinking "Sod the trophy! Isn't there anywhere to get a decent cup of tea around here?!..."
All the best

Greetings all;
From the Berliner Daily Blatter June 17, 1918 here the Kogenluft photographer has visited the 2 Armee pilot replacement pool and is recording for posterity the last gathering of the pilots from Jastaschule class Nr.1191 before they were assigned to different frontline units.
This is an older diorama I did about 12 years ago. A bone yard at the dispersal depot is the setting for "The last time we were altogether."

In his marvelous book, Sopwith Scout 7309 the Australian Sopwith Pup pilot Sir Gordon Taylor (66 Squadron) recorded his impressions of flying the captured Albatros D.III 2015/16, ( G.42.) "...I brought the machine in...Its personality was utterly different from our own airy Sopwith scout. Ours was , in some indefinable way, a sporting weapon, with a slightly smiling, light-hearted personality; a machine which did not identify itself readily with the slaughter of war.
But this Hun was a war machine, a weapon of ruthless efficiency; cold-blooded in the metal of its V interplane struts, the Spandau guns, the big engine under the streamlined cowl in the nose, and the instruments and fittings in the cockpit... My thoughts, as I got out of the Albatros' cockpit, can be...expressed, "Give me this aeroplane to fight the war. Let me keep the Sopwith Scout to enjoy myself in the air when the war is won..." It was on 4 June 1917 that Ltn. Georg Simon is taken POW at 19.25 hours between Fontaine and Heniel near Arras, in Albatros D.III 2015/16.
This is the Eduard 1/48 scale kit with a JP productions figure.
