Hi all - I am a self confessed terrible figure painter, but I have always liked the idea of painting up some figures to accompany my 1:48 scale models. So here is some fun and a slight distraction from things with wings. The figure on the left is from CMK, and the one on the right is CSM - both are supposed to represent typical British flying garb. Both a resin and both are 1:48 scale. Painted with oils. They won't be able to stand alone as figures in their own right (they just ain't that well painted), but I think they will look interesting next to my F2B build once it's done...

Hi Brad
For being a "terrible" figure painter, you are very, very good. Painting faces in 1:48 is not easy, but I think you've done a very convincing job on these two – they'll look great next to your F2B!
Best Regards
Mikael

Hi Guys
Good thread, some good stuff on here, Being mainly a figure paint at heart I love the fact I can cover both sides of the modelling I am involved in by painting some the of the best sculpted figures of WW1 pilots and officers available, My favs are the 1/32 ModellCellar versions of the Aces and a couple of the busts that are now available from them.
Here is a couple I have done before and another couple I am working on

Dave – great figure painting and compositions – like them a lot
( I have a couple of WWI 120 mm figures on the bench to do after I finish my albatroses... I did a lot of figure painting before starting up my current 1:32 plane craze)
Brad – really neat and funny idea with the dog Nicely executed too.
Best Regards
Mikael

Hi Stephen
Is that uniform too early for the figure to along with a Fokker Eindecker E.I / E.II, as I bought the Eduard combo kit and wanted a different figure with one of them.

Greetings Dave,
The Flieger Combination flight suit shown on the Model Cellar figure above is from early 1918. Way too late for the Fokker E series.

Hi Stephen
I figured it was just too early, for the use of that suit, never mind, I want to find something......

Absolutely Paul!
It is a great natural progression. Though I enjoy every figure in your catalog, the Model Cellar line just seems to get better and as you add to it.

Hi Steve,
Thought I would add these recent 1/48 scale figures to the thread. It's a WWI British RFC Pilot and mechanic (sold as a pair or separately).

Paul
