Roy Sutherland has sent us details of the latest Barracuda Studios upgrade sets, with a bundle of exciting new items for Revell's 1:32 Bf 109G kits and replacement wheels for the Typhoon, Tempest, Firefly and Barracuda in 1:48.
”Barracuda Studios is proud to announce six new resin sets are now in production and ready for sale.

The first two are in 1/48th scale, and reflect my preoccupation with wheels, and making them as authentic and detailed as possible. To me, nothing runs a model faster than a set of wonky wheels!

The next four sets are simple and easy to install upgrades for the very nice Revell Bf-109G-10 (Erla built.) This does not mean a G-10 with an Erla canopy. The Erla built G-10s had a totally unique cowling and oil cooler. Revell's kit is the first time this variant has ever been kitted by a mainstream manufacturer. All sets make a real improvement and/or correction to the base kit

BR32123 Bf 109G-10 and K-4 Prop and Spinner
This set contains a new resin prop and spinner to replace the kit items in the Revell kit. Our resin spinner is more accurate in shape and detail. The misshapen kit blades are replaced with very accurate resin versions which will make a big improvement in the look of your finished model. Easy to install. Can be adapted to fit the Hasegawa and Trumpeter 109G-10 and K-4 kits.

BR32156 Bf 109G-10 Intake and Exhaust Set
This set contains a new seamless resin supercharger intake, separate hollow cooling scoops and accurate and detailed exhausts with recessed openings to replace the kit items in the Revell G-10. Filling the seams inside the intake is a tricky and time consuming process. We have saved you from having to tackle this less than thrilling task. This is a simple, easy to install upgrade that will make a big improvement in the look of your finished model. Can also be adapted for the Hasegawa and Trumpeter G-10 and K-4 kits.

BR32160 Bf 109G-10 and K-4 Oil Cooler Fairing
This set contains one detailed, accurately shaped resin oil cooler fairing and separate exit flap that replaces the kit fairing. It is too slab sided on Revell’s Bf 109G-10. Much study of photos was made in the preparation of this new set. A quick and easy drop fit replacement that will make your Erla G-10 even more accurate.

BR32169 Bf-109G Upperwings with Small Wheel Bulges
Resin inner upperwing sections with small wheel bulges to convert the Revell Bf 109G-10 wing (which only gives you the late wide tire bulge) for the many narrow wheel schemes. This section is also a correction for the G-6 kit, as the wheel bulges are molded incorrectly . The cross section of the bulge is reversed, with the high point of the bulge being inboard instead of outboard. This would prevent the tire from retracting into the gearbay. A fine distinction to be sure, but for 109 aficionados, we've done the hard work for you! A must have for many of the G-10 schemes on our two decal sheets.

These new Bf-109G-10 sets are the perfect compliment to our 2 amazing new Erla G-10 decal sheets.

We also have superbly accurate and detailed mainwheels for the 1/32nd Gustav in 5 styles!

BR48138 Typhoon, Tempest Series I Wheel Set
This set consists of a pair of super detailed, accurate mainwheels and tailwheel as fitted to most
Hawker Typhoons & Series 1 Tempest Mk. Vs. This set replaces the old Typhoon wheel set BR 48043, which is now discontinued. Improved pattern making technology and better reference has yielded new wheels that are just slightly more accurate and detailed. Tire beading, logo and size data are now featured, as well as a slightly more accurate front and rear hub. A nifty tailwheel casting is included. This set is designed to fit all 1/48 Typhoon and Tempest kits.

BR48139 Firefly Mk I, Barracuda Mainwheels
This set consists of a pair of super detailed, accurate mainwheels and tailwheel as fitted to wartime Fairey Fireflies and Barracudas. This set replaces the old Firefly Mk I Early Wheel set BR48003, which is now discontinued. Improved pattern making technology and better reference has yielded new wheels that are just slightly more accurate and detailed. Tire beading, logo and size data are now featured, as well as a slightly more accurate front and rear hub. A big improvement for all 1/48 Firefly Mk I and Barracuda kits, as the kit wheels in all the kits are awful!

As with all BarracudaCast products, the resin casting is to the highest standards. All parts are crisp, detailed and bubble free. We replace our molds before the parts quality starts degrading, so you will always get top quality castings. And, of course, we stand behind our products 100%.

Happy modelling! Roy”
