The excitement over the autumn line-up from Eduard is overshadowed by personal tragedy within the company.
The latest Newsletter from Eduard begins on a very sad note. The death has been announced of Dalibor Kurak, one of the driving forces within the company from day one. Dalibor was instrumental in the progress Eduard has made from its short-run beginnings to the important place the company now holds in the kit industry. He will be badly missed, and our condolences go out to his family, friends and colleagues at this dreadful time.
Dalibor's contribution has been crucial in the development of Eduard's latest production techniques, both in the design of etched sets and their plastic kits. His legacy will undoubtedly continue, because Dalibor was closely involved in the planning of both the forthcoming Avia B534 and the Fw 190A series which has been set for release on October 1st, beginning with an 'A-8, to be followed by an 'A-5 in December.
Meanwhile, the Polikarpov I-16 Royal compilation is already shipping. This will be limited to a run of 1, 000 units and contains 3 complete kits, with markings for an incredible 16 aircraft! The Type 10 cowling has been revised and the new version will be included. Anyone who has already bought the original Type 10 can obtain a replacement cowling free of charge from Eduard.
Eduard are releasing a special Limited Edition of their successful Nieuport 17 to coincide with the release of the film "The Flyboys", along with a new version of the Yak-3 as a Dual-Combo with some spectacular decal options.
There are two new additions to the growing Weekend range - the La-7 and Albatros D.V. As usual, these will be simplified versions - i.e. no photo-etch and just a single set of markings each.
On the photo-etch front itself, the big news is that Trumpeter's Dauntless is treated to a mass of new detail sets to take the model to new heights.
