This is not a new concept as an example GWH has issued fine drawings printed on artist quality grade paper for some time. While I'm not a fan of duel kits as I rarely care for the combinations offered, I hope that Eduard doesn't increase the price of these kits to offset the commission the artist will get. Just the fact that they're making these a limited run of 1,000 kits leds me to believe that the price will be steeper then their previous limited offerings. Joel

Dave, Yep. Sounds about right for me. I'm still rather annoyed at their Limited Scooter offering. It's the old Hasegawa kit with new Cartograf decals and some of their AM stuff, but not the seat nor exhaust can that you still had to buy. The Hasegawa offering was going for $35, while the Eduard limited edition was $80. And yes I bought it, built it, and promised myself I'd never buy another Eduard Limited edition offering again. their profit margins on these kits must be astronomical. For that matter I feel the same about their twin kit offerings. I ended up buying one of their twin P-39 boxings, but I only wanted one kit. Odds are I would never build the other kit. I ended up trading it and taking a loss on the deal. Joel

I love Eduard's Special boxings! Got the F-4s [Good Morning Da Nang (2), Good Evening Da Nang (1), Rockin' Rhinos (2)] with Brassin Seats, exhausts, tires, astounding decals, interior and exterior photoetch. Same goes for the Danger Zone F-14, NATO Falcons, Su-27. Also have the Ultimate Sabre, Scooter, and Dauntless with it's outstanding Brassin twin .30 and mount. The SBD comes with a Brassin tail wheel to do the A-24 Banshee and includes Cartograph decals for these land base Dauntless' as well. There's also the remarkable, unique and valuable boxing of the Aussie Eights. This kit includes a very special limited book covering the Spitfires on offer in the box and separate from that is a large thick instruction sheet for all the decal options. Of course I got two of these Limited Edition kits. One to drool on and the other to drool on as well! You really can't beat the value of any of these Limited kits. The Academy Phantoms go for around $40 on eBay. I've purchased my F-4's direct from Eduard or from Roll Models or Sprue Brothers for about $75 - $85 with free shipping. Since the plastic alone is $45 all the extras set me back just $30 to $40!!!! The Furball decals would have cost about $18 if purchased separately. Of course all these kits will need some aftermarket Brassin weapons . . . which is what Eduard is counting on. Good for them for wanting to be profitable. Over the past few years it seems Eduard has gotten 80% of my modeling dollars. Well deserved too. Now I'm looking forward to Eduard doing Vietnam Crusaders!

John, You missed my point. Not one single kit was designed, molded, nor kitted by them. They simply bought the rights to package them. Some kits come with better AM parts then others. The A4 Scooter is a perfect example. The seat and exhaust can are must haves, yet they're not included in the kit. Why? Because they know that the vast majority of us will end up buying them. Paying $80 for a basically $35 kit is the bottom line. As for the SBD, it's the old Accurate Miniature's kit. Yet they're packaging it like it's a state of the art release, and it no longer is. I'll pick and choose more carefully as it's my hard earned dollars I'm spending. I love their current single releases, but won't ever buy another limited or duel kitting, as they just don't appeal to me. As for the F-4s. ZM is coming out with their offerings, and that certainly will be the new standard. I sold off all my remaining Academy kits while they were worth something. Joel

I agree with you Joel. Though I buy and like the quality of most the Eduard kits, I think the practice you describe below is a bit off putting. I'll still buy their single kits and AM stuff, but I have learned to steer away from the "Special" kits they put out.
