Jan Zdiarsky, Ph.D. of Eduard is the founder and director/volunteer of the Museum of Air Battle over the Ore Mountains on September 11th, 1944. On that day my hometown Kovarska in Czech Republic was a center of a great aerial battle between 8th USAAF and Luftwaffe. Some 60 planes were shot down in this combat.
On research of this event I am already working some 32 years. In 1997 we opened a museum dedicated to that event. So now we have 20th anniversary of the museum. For that occasion we started a crowdfunding project on Czech portal HitHit, with deal to gather some 50 000 CZK (ca 2 000 USD) for the event celebrating the anniversary. There are interesting rewards for contributors, some of them are focused to people who can´t come to the event, but their rewards can be sent by post.
There left two weeks before the project close and actually we have gathered 45%.
Our Museum is for many years a good partner to Eduard (you may remember some special editions of Royal Classes of Fw 190A-8/R2 1/48 and 1/72, also as the Bf 109G-6 in 1/48 with piece from „our“ air battle, etc. and the subject is of course very close to interest of your readers and websites + facebook visitors.
