This weekend Eduard is to release the second ProfiPACK 1/48 scale P-51D and it will be the first quarter scale kit focusing on the fillet less early production D-5
”1/48 scale ProfiPACK P-51D-5 kit will be introduced at E-Day venue in Lysá nad Labem!
It is historically the first 1/48 scale kit that focuses on early production block D-5 variant, without a dorsal fin fillet.
An artwork by Piotr Forkasiewicz depicts P-51D-5-NA, s/n 44-13318 ‘Frenesi’ flown by Lt. Col. Thomas L. Hayes from 357th Fighter Group in August 1944. 458th Bomb Group’s Liberators are in the background.
‘Frenesi’ was named after a popular song of the time, ‘Free and Easy’. It was one of the very first D-model Mustangs operated by the 357th Fighter Group, and one of the aircraft which operated during D-Day.
We would like to thank Darin Scorza, historian of the 458th Bomb Group, who participated in the creation of the painting, by giving his expert advice.”
