Eduard has revealed plans to produce the Avia S-199 in 1/48 scale, with a release date sometime next year
”S-199 is designed to be released in two versions. This is the older one, with Bf 109G-10 Erla type canopy hatch. There is also undernose oil cooler with specific shape, used in first 25 produced S-199 shown on this picture.
This is late and standard version of the S-199, which was produced in more than 500 pieces. The modified canopy and the smooth bottom engine cowl are the main specific details of this aircraft. Our kit has the extra fuselage for each variant.
The early version of the nose, with specifically shaped oil cooler. Only 25 aircraft were equipped by this cooler. The final design of the nose of S-199, with the heat exchanger replacing the oil cooler.
One more picture showing the nose equipped with heat exchanger. There are two underwing cannon gondolas with MG 151 on this picture. Some S-199 were equipped by two MG 131 machine guns mounted in the wings, which will be an weapon option of our kit. One more view of the wing installation of the MG 131 in standard production aircraft. Standard S-199 with two underwing cannon gondolas with 2xMG 151 20 mm cannons. There is a new style separation of the wing and fuselage in S-199 as well as in Bf 109K-4. Also, there are separated position lights in the wing tips.”

Hi there This is really exciting news! Apart from the subject itself, it's great to see that Eduard have included clear wingtip lamps in the new mouldings (the solid lamp covers in previous boxings have been one of the few things I've criticised). Hopefully, this might mean we'll see Spanish-built versions too? And... please!... a 'G-12 2-seater? All the best Rowan
