Barracuda Studios is proud to announce the launch of a new line. BarracudaCast is a new line of resin detail sets that will cover all of the major scales in aircraft, and a few other subjects thrown in there to keep it interesting! Some sets will tie in with new decals releases. Some sets from the Cooper Details days will be re-released. Some re-released sets will be upgraded and/or revised. There will be 9 new sets announced in the next few days in 1/48th and 1/72nd scales. Watch this space for news!
In the meantime, here is a sneak preview of the promised detail sets for the superb Tamiya 1/32nd scale Spitfire Mk IX, and the soon to be released Spitfire Mk. VIII. The sets are as follows:
32001 Spitfire Seat with leather backpad
32002 Spitfire cockpit door with separate crowbar.
32003 Spitfire cockpit upgrade with stencil and placard decals
32004 Spitfire VIII/IX rocker covers w logo (Rolls Royce)
32005 Spitfire 5 slot mainwheels in resin
32006 Spitfire 4 slot mainwheels in resin
32007 Spitfire IX early cannon bay covers (w corrected wide blister)
All sets represent a marked improvement in detail for those who want to take this superb kit to an even higher level of detail. All are cast in high quality bubble free resin. Why new wheels? The resin mainwheels eliminate the kit's slightly sticky rubber tyres that act as a dust magnet. They also eliminate the difficult task of removing the tyre's mold parting lines and provide extra details such as the castellations on the axle nut.
The barracudaCast tab is not active yet, and the sets are not yet up on the website, but will be shortly.
