Hi Luciano,
Can't remember what one it was, so here is a pic of both your Tomcats .
I haven't put the pic in the gallery. If need be just "save picture as" and upload it.

That'll do fine Luciano, looks like i'll have to dig out some of my tomcat patches next time I display my models

"Tomcat's got the Ball" Finally landed my Cat and got the pictures taken so with out further ado.

Unfortunately the flash (despite being diffused) seems to have made half of the filth and panel lining disappear (I'll try again when it's nice outside) I have to admit that personally I don't think this is one of my better efforts (as I spread my self too thinly by doing other campaigns) but still I had fun doing it and that's what modelling is about.

I'm updating the table to show those that have now made it safely back to the Carrier deck.

Thanks Andy / Allen, its the one on the left, as the other one (VX4) was built before the campaign started.

Allen I have nearly all the F-14 Squadrons patches but I'am missing some of the more famous ones. Oh and a very nice F-14 by the way.

Looking great guys. Looking really great. I really like the Iranian Kitty and what more needs to be said about Miss Molly. Very well done.

Hello everyone,

I’m still making progress on the model. I should have it done by the end of the extension.

Hi all!

Wow, so many great Tomcat builds!

I have completed the decalling!

First I laid a gloss coat over the grey, no need for the underside as that alrady was gloss!

Fins ready for decals;

The cat´s claws ( 4 x AIM-54C Phoenix and 2 x AIM-9 Sidewinders) well underway;

Two VERY packed decal sheets made the decalling to an almost daunting task!

Decalling have started and are well underway here;

The worlds most famous squadron insignias?

Probably!

I finished the decalling tonight, after three days of hard work!

Now It´s late and time to hit the sack so pics will follow later!

Anytime Baby!

Hello everyone,

Stefan, that's one "Jolly looking Roger!" I decaled my model last night. I'm working on the ordinance currently. I hope apply a wash of Payne's Grey tonight. Here is a picture so far of things.

Brian

Hmmmmm. I maybe should have done an Iranian one myself, I like the look of the camouflage and it is a lot different from the rest of the bunch.

Nice work Sam!

I am on the glide path (a bit wobbly and bumpy), expect catching the wire tonight or possibly tomorrow!

Regards

Very nice 'cat, Samantha!

The camo and markings definently sets it aside from the other cats.

I'm done! Finally!

I will take some more photos this weekend.

It looks a bit toothless without armament but hopefully I will be able to load a full set of missiles tomorrow night!

Now I REALLY need something easy to build...

Thanks for the comments, its been a hard slog trying to build it and get over my depression aswell but i made it Decided on the Iranian camo cat as i thought it would be different for this campaign. I was that pleased with the outcome i even entered it in the September mom.

@Camogirl, magnusf and Tomcat31 - great builds. Lots of great schemes.

My build is progressing slowly. I guess it's an experience thing but I thought I would have mine well and truly finished by now but nothing has gone together as easily as I had hoped. If it's not pushing the friendship can I ask to have until the end of the weekend.

Just to give a progress update, I have all the main colours on and I am just waiting for the coat of "Future" to dry before I start decalling. After that I will apply some more "Future" and do a panel wash and then finish with a flat coat. I have decided to go the low-vis scheme ...boring maybe but my first.

If its a problem, that's cool. I know lots of the group have finished and are eagerly awaiting their ribbons.

Cheers
Wiz

No worries wiz, keep at it... According to my records we still waiting on three to "call the ball and trap the wire" I'm sure I speak for most of us when I say we don't mind waiting to see some of the top notch work that you and the others will produce.

Hi All!

First of all I have to comment on some recent builds!

Sam, that Iranian Cat turned out very nice indeed!
So good that that scheme now Is high on my "have to do list".
Phew, another Tomcat to build! HeHe...

Allen, the Sundowners have always been one of the top squadron schemes.
Yours turned out magificent!

Magnus Your Aardvarks Tomcat Is also a top notch build, and in a scheme seldom done, wich is a pity as It´s quite nice!

Brian, very nice build!
Hard to believe It´s an old Italeri kit!

Now a small update on the Jolly Roger!

I´m not finished yet, but I´m definitley in the pattern!

After decalling was completed (took three days of hard work!) I added the fins, landing gears and tail hook to the fuselage.

Landing gears masked (the oleos) for the satin coat.

Main canopy masked and tacked (not permanently glued) to the fuselage.

Small spine antennas added, ready and waiting for the final satin coat and some light weathering.

We will be away this weekend so please bear with me, as I´ll need at least next week to finish this cat!

Anytime Baby!

Stefan! Thanks for the kind words! Your Cat is definitely worth the wait and I will use that extra time to get some serious armament hung on mine.

Here the updated table of completions... (you may need to refresh your browser)
