1⁄35Three Years and a BF-110 G-2
This is just for Roger. Once the under surface has cured it is masked off, in preparation for the first topside color-usually the next lightest. Convention would have you spray the whole of the upper surface with this color-I don’t. I'll explain why in my soon to be published feature on pre-shading. Using pencil, I mark out in freehand and quite roughly (i.e. a slightly bigger area than is required) the camouflage areas. Use the tack cloth then spray this camouflage color just covering the pencil marks. Make sure it is well cured and mask off for the second camouflage color. I usually use Tamiya masking tape for the demarcation between camo. I lay a piece of tape on a glass plate and use a metal ruler and a scalpel (make sure you have a fresh sharp edge) to cut the masking tape. I mask between the Tamiya tape with blue (very low tack) 3-M tape. Spray the next color and as for all colors take heed of the pre-shading (if you are using it). Mottling is done as you use the appropriate color or separately, after the main colors are done. I usually add a bit more thinner, alter the spraying pressure and do it after spraying the main camo-unless hard edge masking is in the way.
