1⁄35Three Years and a BF-110 G-2
This is another 109 after the wash has been removed. Don’t forget that the undercarriage doors, drop tanks, rocket launchers, props, spinners and anything else that is going to be attached to the plane needs a wash as well to tie them in with the rest of the plane. All the hard work is now done.
Finishing. When you are happy with the wash, check for dust and debris and use the tack cloth again. Give the model a coat of your favorite matt varnish and leave for the requisite time. Next add exhaust and gun staining. For German aircraft I use RLM 66 Black Grey (you could do this before the matt varnish). Add all the dangly bits except the props and antenna wire-if fitted. Then using a silver pencil add paint chipping. Go easy and only add it sparingly (unless its Japanese of course) to edges of panels that are open, particularly gun, fuel, engine access panels, wing leading edges and were the crew enter and ground staff tread. Add the props and lastly the antenna wires.
