Sorry guys, I was away from the computer for a few days. Sorry, but it's not a Dornier or B& V, think floatplane instead of flying boat...
"Why you? Why me for that matter? Because the moment simply is. Have you ever seen bugs trapped in amber?"
"yes."
"well, here we are, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why."

You're right with the company, but it's not the He 59.

My last offer: He 115. There was a version with strengthened floats for landing on ice and I'm guessing it may have had storage and steps built into the floats.

What the heck, I'll throw in the last possible one, just incase.
The HE114. Possibly since it was a biplane the storage would have been needed.

Graeme has gotten it finally. Good job.
The He 115 had steps that depressed into the wing surface when pressure was placed on them, but could also fold open to become storage lockers. There was one on the left side and three on the right side at the wing root.

Matt, where do you find out something like that? I guess I was wrong about the floats. Thanks for that.

Not a chopper, Dave.
It is a transport. Quite a biggy (Count the wheels). Originally military airlifter, now civilian. One or two are still flying...

Bingo!
Well done Rowan.
One (9L-LDQ) is operating here out of Brisbane and I believe HeavyLift are refurbishing a second one.
