Hi all
I thought it'd be fun to bring back an old friend by kicking off a new Trivia Quiz. For newcomers who've never played, there's no prize for the correct answer - you just get to set the next question.
So, without further ado...
What is this turret and which aircraft was it fitted to?

Hi Rowan!
I guess it's the rear firing turret of a Bristol Blenheim.

Hi Jean-Luc
LOL! I knew I'd made it too easy! You're absolutely right - it's a Nash and Thomson Type FN54 designed for the Blenheim.

Over to you for the next one.

Hi Rowan!
Damn I forgot I would have to ask the next question.
I knew the answer because I've reviewed the Blenheim from Classic Airframes not long ago (review
here)

Ok, here is the next one:
Which helicopter made the first non-stop transatlantic flight and when?

Hi Jean-Luc
I have to admit I was forced to Google the answer for this (Joe and Gino will never forgive me! LOL!):
A pair of HH-3E Jolly Green Giants flew non-stop from New York to Paris in 1967. Flight time was 30 hour 46 minute and they were refueled nine times each by C-130 tanker planes.
You can read more about this and many other interesting helo stories here:
http://www.aeroworldnet.com/his.htm I'll put my thinking cap on for a tougher question than my first one...

Just for that... here's one just for you! (Hint: It's a member of a category of aircraft you you rather like.)

Question: What's the aircraft?

At least you had to Google!
Is the new aircraft a German sailplane?

I knew it because of the typical "Ilja Richter" chimney that can be seen on the building in the background. It's a type of chimney that only exists in Germany!
DSF or maybe Horten?

Hi Steffen
Well, if Jean-Luc's already giving the little Captain lessons, there's no hope for us! Two stunning Formery modellers?! - that'd be too unfair!
And back to the quiz: No - think of a famous pair of brothers...
All the best

Hi Rowan
I do not really want to particpate in this thread, (see the PM I sent you) ... IIRC J-L already pointed out Horten and you demanded the special version.
as for J-L Jr. ... agreed ... and then imagine the little captain is 39 years younger and thus much faster than his dad .... we both appear even slower then

OTOH we can still do our own snail race
