At first that looked easy, but when it's not an XP-54, -55 or 56, and not even a SAAB J 21 then it gets harder.
Could it be an early Kyushu Shinden? But the two firsts I have to leave for someone else.

Hi Matthew,
Try again, buddy, but rename the pic file this time.
It's an ambrosi ss-4 according to your file name!
Back to you.
Grubby.

Yepp. Finally that smug smile is in the right place
But the plane looks cool though. Got to check that up a bit deeper.
Tony.

That smug smile came about because the biggest mug of hot chocolate I have ever seen has just been placed in front of me!

Hi all
What a shame it was spoiled question - it was a good 'un! I must admit I'd never come across the SS-4 before - it's seriously tempting as a subject for a scratchbuild, if there's sufficient info out there...
All the best

Well... While he did cheat, and get the name of the plane, that's not the whole question. The question is also, "what was this plane the first to do???"
And for the record... It's Ambrosini... Not Ambrosi

Hi Matthew
According to the web pages I looked at, the Ambrosini was the first fighter monoplane canard - and one of the first with a tricycle undercarriage.

Hi Matthew
Sometimes it pays to come in late on a question!
I'll go sort out the next one.
