Thank you Roden!
I have to say very kind of 'm. there are more reasons I did not apply to this, but most important is not too much time because of expanding family.
Cheers, Nico

Hi Stephen
Yes - BIG thanks to Roden for supplying the kits for this exciting build!
But also ENORMOUS thanks to you for the amazing job you continue to do in building up the WW1 community on Aeroscale! You've taken the topic from virtually non-existent to being our showcase section!
Keep 'em coming!

Me too!
I have always been a fan of Roden. In fact, they rate higher in my estimation than a well known Czeck model manufacturer (Not that I don't rate that company highly, I just rate Roden higher)... Why, because they seem to be going all out to make us, the modellers, happy.
This whole thing will be a blast.
Many thanks to Roden and Stephen.
Cheers,
Hugh

The DI is a nice release and certainly an indication that a DII won't be far away! Roden is to be commended for taking the lead in "NEW" WW1 releases, especially in 1/32nd.

Alright ladies and Gentlemen!
If Kalt has his kits delivered in time we will begin the first ever Kit manufacturer Sponsored Group Build. This has not been done on any website previously! We have four modelers with manufacturer supplied all-plastic kits. As mentioned here previously the only aftermarket items that will be allowed will be ones made for the specific kits.
The officiial kick off will be on Fedruary 16th 2008.
Each builder will start his own thread so that we won't get in each others way by putting everything on one thread. Lots of elbow room here folks. I ask the other builders to go step by step in a verbal description of their work folowing the kit instructions and providing any comments they think are pertinent. Historical text, actual images of the original machine and or its parts. I have provided each with a URL to upload their images just like a mainstream GB.
I ask that the title of each builders thread be formatted to
"1/32 Roden GB 2008 Se5a"
"1/32 Roden GB 2008 Fok.D.VI"
"1/32 Roden GB 2008 Fok. F.I"
"1/32 Roden GB 2008 Fok. Dr.I"
"1/32 Roden GB 2008 Alb.D.III"
"1/32 Roden GB 2008 Nieuport 28 C.1" (as of 5.11.08.)
I will come back here later as well and provide a link for the convienience of our viewers.

Sounds good. This is a very interesting project and it will probably open my horizon to these kits as I am normally not a WWI builder.
Looking forward to see the projects start in February.

To bad there wont be a D.I in this GB.
It would be even better if they would put a good D.V into production.

Alright folks for better or worse here we go the first ever Single Manufacturer (of any scale) GB has begun.
They will take their images and upload them to their Kitmaker image albums for now, until I work out a few photo storage questions for just such a group build. Each modeler will start his own "build thread". I am sure we easch will have our own approach to this so bear with us please.
Let me take this opportunity to thank the good people at RODEN for their kindness and help in this effort!

Stephen,
The scale (and price) of the 1/32 Roden kits are out of my 1/72 league, but I have sure wanted to try one. If Roden "ever" comes out with a 1/32 SPAD VII or Sopwith Dolphin, can I get first dibs?

Hey Red, uh er Caz,
Around here you never can tell! You never know whats going to show up. I heard that they are considering sending a kit or two. But not the ones you mention (still behind the curtain and yet to be revealed.) Just hang around here and the darndest things happen.

Our Good man Claudio (Kalt) has finally been able to join the job of the First limited scope Aeroscale Group Build . Roden had given me 5 of their 1/32 scale kits and MerlinV, RAGIII and Kalt had volunteered to finish the builds in their own inimitable styles. The worst of it was when Kalt was sent his kit (the Fokker Dr.I ) it also included his prize for winning the Aeroscale 2007contest. Somewhere in Argentina there is a postal worker who fed the package to his donkey. It never showed up. Claudio being the decent fellow that he is purchased the kit on his own and has elected to continue with us in this effort.
I asked for commited modelers and thats what I got. Another reason I enjoy being here. Talent and commitment what more could you ask for?

Greetings Gentle Folk at Aeroscale;
We have a good news. Our good fellow Lars (Repainted) Qvarfordt has consented to joining in our little GB with his 1/32 Roden Nieuport 28. He is using some PE as templates to build parts from plastic. Like the basket / lattice pilot seat. This just keeps getting better and better.
