I'm on! Probably a French one, I have an old Hasegawa 1/72 in the stash. Or maybe even an Enemy Aircraft from Luftwaffe, there is still plenty of time to decide!

I'm in. Tamiya 1/48 P-47 C-5 (plumbed model, meaning normal keel).
Possibly also a Tamiya P-47M (not sure what scheme yet).

I am in as well. I will be doing Hasegawa's 1/32 offering.
Don't know what the final paint scheme will be yet. I just hope the Aftermarket Stuff I ordered will get here shortly and I can keep my hands off them until the start date.

I'm in.
Nigel, having read your Alclad adventures I've been inspired to try a NMF!
I think waiting until Jan 09 will be the biggest problem though ...

I don't want to ruin you day Vance but I think I was even faster: When I went to the campaign page first it was there with all the info but there was no "enlist"-button!
Anyway, I've been there and pressed it now!
This will be fun!

The Tamiya kit has a bulged keel.To my knowledge there is no kit available of an early P-47 C with a flat keel. The C-5's were fitted with a bulged keel so youd be ok doing one. Helluva modification to try and replicate a flat keel Im led to believe. Personally, unless your dead set on building one with a flat keel, I wouldnt bother
Anyone wanting to build a P-47 C will find that Loon Models make an excellent resin cowling for the Tamiya kit. i dont know of a P-47 C cowling available in 1:72.
Mike.
Knowing that my Alclad Adventures article has encouraged someone to try a NMF who normally wouldnt means its achieved its objective. Good luck!,,( its not that difficult,,even I can do it! )
6 enlistees already, thats about 1 every hour and a half since I started the thread,,LOL,,could be a busy campaign

Cheers guys.
Although everyone whos expresssed interest in the group build hasnt enlisted yet we still have the required 10, so this will now become an approved campaign and move to the main campaign page.
"Thunderbolts Are Go"...sorry,,couldnt resist that one

Hi Kelly.
If your thinking along the lines of the Chrysler engined XP-47H or the XP-72 then the answers YES

The P-47C-5 I am building has a bulged keel. I got the decals from eBAY. I already have the Loon conversion kit.
Here is the confirmation of the bulged keel:

I have a few photos of this a/c. I would like to see if this a/c has nose art on the startboard side. Any photos anyone has on this please post them.

Li'L Abner carried a four leaf clover on the starboard side with the name "Jessie O".
Jessie was Eugene O'Neils wife.

Ok, I yield! I've signed up now. I'll build a C, D or M Jug, in 1:48 or 1:32 and finish it in OD, NMF or - like Nigel - in psychedelic! I guess that will have to do for specifications for now. 2009 is faaaar away!
