You have my most sincere thanks, my friends!
So, I've been doing lots and lots- and even a little modeling! I think I've pushed this build over the hump- and for a screen saver of Hannah and Fritzi see my blog: here

The cage under the canopy is very, very nice! Thanks for the tutorial on your vac-forming methods- will be very useful if I ever try it.

No bad soldering. You can get a job in a Chinese electronics plant any day.
The pay's not great but think of the perks...if there is a strike you'll get some fresh air!
That jig musta a took a lot of test fitting? Are you gonna produce copies of it for us mere mortals. I wonder what other a/c would benefit from that treatment?
What happened to the ApeDog Egg, is it done?

Just dropped across from Armorama where I normally admire the slow-moving targets that have traditionally interested me and that I build.
I am totally blown away by this build. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is exquisite, the artistic understanding of colours and shade and feel are spot-on, the way you show your processes is wonderfully educational and the story-telling additions of Hannah and co are very entertaining!
I am now hooked and will follow the finish of this with great anticiapation.
You are a genius Chuck!

I'm simply in awe. How much for one of those canopies? I'm also in agreement that you have taken modeling to a new level, bravo dude. Juan.

Many thanks, my friends! Glad you like the canopy- I think it captures the feel of the real thing a bit more than the kit offering. Sorry to say, I'm waaay too busy to go into the vac business. Hope you'll understand.
Over the hump and picking up speed. It's nice to be adding parts to this bale of hay! We'll get by as long as Hannah can keep the General at bay, right, Hannah?

Would you be so kind to us Chuck and give up working for money to provide us more updates in future? And if you get divorce...

A brief but pithy update- I tried an old balsa trick with styrene- and it worked!

Chuk, you never cease to stun me with your innovation. This has become a thread that I am scared to open because when I see what you are getting up to I think "I must have a go at that myself one day" but then I get back to the workbench and have trouble getting 2 x 48th scale fuselage halves to fit together.
You operate in a different dimension to us mere mortals !!
Cheers, D

I'd buy one!
Chuck, this is outstanding work (even for you).
Your build has so much depth to it, can't wait to see her finished up.

Thanks, guys! A calendar? I'd rather get this damnable thing finished- for now! ;D
It's the first modeling day I've had in weeks, and boy, did I feel out of practice. Lost parts, terrifying steps- I guess I made it through- check it out!

Same here. I check in every Sunday to see if the thread with "kitchen sink" in the title has been bumped.

I wonder how well that complex sight and controls worked the rear gunner?

From what I've read, it was not the most effective defense for this particular aircraft, in my opinion, something like what the ME110 had for rear defense would have been more efficient.

I could have sworn I posted this last night...
I got a great suggestion and it has saved the day- not only did the black Milliput fill the gaps, they're unnoticeable from the inside as well. Cheers to Tony Bell and Terrance burns for the leg up!
