Early versions of the Spitfire were used as CAS in North Africa. If you could get a good scheme, that could work.

like the idea of this Campaign. I just finished an Hs 129 from the MTO and liked it so much I bought another. I also have an AC-130 [1/144] and an AC-47 [1/72] and lastly a C-119 [1/72] that I plan on converting to an AC. This would give me a reason to start one of them at least.

Actually might build a Spit myself. Is that ok Jim or do I need some literature to back me up?

This is correct...we are trying to keep it pure here to the best of our abilities.. Id prefer to see purpose- built airframes being done in this campaign..

Hi Jim
I just noticed today that it is still a while until the campaign starts .. well I started the model yesterday:
it is not that small in 48 scale (plusmodel Hummer for size comparison)
so I guess I will have to choose something different in case I want to join..
cheers
Steffen

Hi all, would this Thud count for CAS ? I've done some reading as I'm not up to speed with anything lacking props, but it seems to have been predominantly used in the CAS role.

ive built that kit and yes ....Il say it is CAS ....the Thud Wild Weasle was designed to take out anti aircraft missle sites as I recall...and Im sure ground forces would be happy to have assistance in taking these points of opposition out of action..

Howdy Y'all
I have a stupid question. Would the Blackhawk helicopter and its varients be allowed? Somebody makes a 1/35 model that looks interensting.
Thanks,

Academy does (did) one ... the AH-60 DAP (Deep Action Penetrator) I seem to recall. The Nightstalker boys got creative and shortened the stub wings that could be fitted and strapped rockets and a 30mm chaingun to them ... IMO I'd say yes since that's why they armed it as they did.

Hi all
Regarding the Nighthawk as a CAS bird I found this description of the UH-60 blackhawk on guncopter.com
http://www.guncopter.com/mh-60-dap/[/url]
'A modified UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter, the MH-60L Direct Action Penetrator (DAP) is a gunship operated by the US Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR), or the 'Nightstalkers'. The DAP would not normally carry troops. Instead, it is used to provide close air support and escort for US special operations helicopters and ground troops'.
So in my humble opinion I would say it fitted CAS requirements, but the boss should have the final say. By the way MH-60L Direct Action Penetrator is a real mean looking machine. I would not mind doing it myself.
