Hi Justin -

Not sure...I went to your gallery, and clicked on the pic of the ribbon, then right clicked, and selected properties. I copied the address (URL) of the pic, and then went back to the forum. I clicked on the [img] tag in the reply box, and pasted the address....and it worked!

Actually, took me two tries, but it's finally there.

Cheers,
Mike

It sounds good to me, Justin. I like wide open Campaigns, as it allows a lot of people with different interests in. Any scale, any era, as long as it has a "pin-up" on it....works for me. I'm thinking of finally opening that Hasegawa B-25J for this one.

Cheers,
Mike

Just my opinion--but I don't think the playboy bunny should be used. Some of the best pin up art was produced in world war 2. I think a nice gil elgren or vargas touch would make a better ribbon. A true pin-up was not necessarily naked, they were mostly innocent looking girls in suggestive poses. I am not beating up on your ribbon--but the playboy rabbit head is way too commercial and does not represent a "true" pin-up for aircraft nose art. Even modern aircraft use WW2 pin-ups on occasion. I won't go into the poor artistry on modern aircraft. Anyway, I think it will be a great campaign. It will be the only gallery where you can't see the finished planes due to all of the blurred out spots-lol.

Pat, your point is well taken. I am 58 . I am well aware of the Vargas girls (Playboy usually had some in their mag as well), but have never heard of Elgren. I'm betting anyone my age or younger sees the rabbit head as the icon of well written articles and stories ...oh - and pics. It is immediately recognized for what it represents, by my generation, and younger ones. You are right again to point out that Pin-ups were generally bathing beauties or cleverly posed young lasses. The Campaign certainly allows for that - I do believe it is a "clothes optional" Campaign. Honestly, I don't think Justin could have come up with a better ribbon to get the idea of the Campaign across, one that speaks to all age groups. It has my vote.

Cheers,
Mike

I misspelled his name--its Gil Elvgren. Check it out on google--he did some great pin-ups.

Altough I actually agree about vargas. All the ribbions i came up with by the time they were sized down you couldnt tell what they were. The playboy bunny was the only one that came out crisp and got the point across.Trust me I would have welcomed a girl on it

You gave it a nice try Justin. I wasn't beating up on your playboy ribbon--I hope you understand that. If I can find time I will enter this campaign.
