Has this site ever done a nose art campaign? If not I think it would make for a good one.

I agree, I have always been fascinated with nose art on WWII aircraft. However, I don't think I would have the time to run the campaign but I would certainly join in!

So could I build my Starfury with the mermaid? ...

I would not restrict it to nose art. Soe Italian bombers had some striking artwork at the sides of the fuselage. And is this nose art

all the best

Works for me i think If we called it the bombshell campaign it would incompass any part of the plane
as long as it would be art.The idea I think would let your creative mind go nuts.

I was just thinking the other day there should be a "pin-ups" campaign.

I'll be the campaign leader if no one else wants to (anyone else should feel free to volunteer though!).

Nose art, eh?...I'll have to rummage thru the stash, but I'm sure I can come up with something that will cause the wife to rap the back of my head as she walks by. I'm in.

Cheers,
Mike

It's not actually that hard or time consuming. If you want to learn, I'll play the roll of adviser/2nd in command if you like.

I was gonna throw my hat into the ring as well for campaign 2nd in command but alas, I too have no experience. Honestly, I don't give a fat ratts behind who runs it as long as it gets off the ground.

I've been waiting 5 years for my sons to get big enough for me to build this model so I wouldn't get into trouble with the wife. Now is a perfect excuse!

Anyway, whoever ends up in charge, I'll be more than happy to help out. And IMHO "pin-ups" campaign pretty much sums it up nicely.

I think wou should stick to "pinups" or bombshells for this one ... there are so many possiblilities already. Maybe postpone the start until March or April so there is a chance for more decal sets from a certain manufacturer ...

Also I am still hoping for "Sharks II" one day .... so to avoid overlapping

all the best

Does this have to be accurate in terms of pin ups as I have a large collection of pin ups from 1930's through to 1960 that would be perfect for nose art, And no most have clothes on them so it not old copies of Playboy. I cannot promise my freehand painting will cut it, but I am willing to try.

CMOT, you can scan those images into your computer, resize them, and then print them out on decal paper and have beautiful decals. Just an idea.....

Hermon thank you for that as I already have them on the PC, I do however want to try my hand at painting them by hand (excuse the pun).

Ok so lets see....

1.start in march
2.Name "PIN-UPS" campaign
3.Any plane, from any era,in any scale as long as it has a pin-up on it.
4.Obviously what-ifs would be aloud.
5.I count 9 so far we only need one more.
6.Ill give it a go as campaign leader and Van and Hermon can have a duel to the death
Van sais he has experience so I would pick him.No offence Hermon respect you alot

Any thing I missed let me know or if there are any adjustment's that anyone would like to make.

No problem man. Long as I get to build my nekkid chick airplane all is good. Besides, I'll be pretty busy next year practicing my Flashdance routine. I'm also doing some cage fighting on the side.
