Justin (or anyone else who knows), which pinup artist painted the sassy looking reclining brunette on the banner (the one almost wearing blue)?

Torchy and anyone else looking for decals, the easiest way to find them as it seems a number of companies sell them is to just type "pyn up decals" at google or ask and it will bring up all you need. There are still plenty of companies that have schemes available OOB.

Hey Robert. Just go to the "Campaigns" tab at the top of the page to enter the Campaigns page. This page show you all of the campaigns underway as well as those pending.
Scroll down to the "Debarkation Zone" and find the link to the "Pin-Ups" campaign. This will take you to the individual campaign for rules and regs and dates. On the RHS of this page is the enlistment box, but you might have to login again on that page if you can't see it.

Hope this helps, D

My work schedule looks to be pretty heavy early next year, but I should have enough build time getting in at the very start of the campaign, so I'm in. I'm going to wait a couple of days to officially enlist, though, until I select a subject.

OK I've got enlisted, I have a question though, do I have to wait till the start date to start building or can I get going now? This will be my first plane. Oh, another question, does it have to be a "known" pin-up or can I freelance?

Usually entries for campaigns cannot be started until the start date. Which is why the campaigns have a start and finish date. Sometimes campaign leaders will give some allowances such as entries must not have had more than 10% of the kit started. But you'll have to wait to see what Justin says.

Scantily clad women in suggestive poses, plastic, paint, we are drawn like moths to a flame.

Merry Christmas mate.

Hi again Justin and all, I just enlisted for this one. As I mentioned earlier, the lady in blue on the campaign banner caught my eye (I bet guys from other paintings are hitting on her all the time ). I decided I'd like to use her for my entry, looked around for the image and found that it's in fact an Elvgren, not a Vargas. It's called "Sheer Comfort". However, this particular painting was done in , I think, 1959. This means I'll probably end up building my kit as a what-if representation of a modern, restored warbird, as that will give a lot more room for "artistic license". I've attempted to do an adaption of the painting in the spirit of the common WWII practice of morphing popular calendar or magazine pinups into noseart. I've done a "feasibility study" test printing of it sized down to appropriate size for a 1/32 P-47 (I'm looking at using the Trumpy 1/32 P-47D), and I think it'll look pretty good. Here's what I've come up with (watermarked to avoid any potential copyright issues) . . .

Regards

So far my choice's are:

P-47D - Angie
P-47N - 2 Big and Too Heavy
P-47N - Red-e-Ruth
P-47D-30 - D3K (Tail code)
B-17 - Memphis Belle (or another as just ordered the newly released B-17 Heavenly Bodies decal sheet from Zoto Hannants only got it in on the 15.12.09)

I think at the moment the B-17 is winning

I would have really liked to have got Hasegawa's 1/48 Spit with the 'Hello Tolly' nose-art but I can't find one anywhere.
