Hi Terri, sorry it didn't turn the way you wanted, can I suggest for the next time you use this "dust" color from Floquil; it may have the tone that you want and it builds up in very ligth layers, you can control how much do you apply. almost imposible to do a heavy layer, at least that you want it. and always remember that this is for fun
.
Let's do some plastic.

Nothing to be worried about here Terri. I wish my disappointments turned out this good.

WOW, Terri. That really does look grand. Your way to hard on yourself if you think it didn't turn out. The dusting effect looks great.

@ Ruffus; I remember Floquil Dust. It's great for making muddy windows on AFV's
@Jackflash: If this is a disappointment, I want to lean how to make my models this disappointing!
Great job Terri!

Thanks Stephen
You can see the shading from using the sharpie , but it is very faint and doesn't show up in the pictures . so in ways it did work out to a to some degree
I'm very happy with how the CDL turned out , once the pastels hit the surface and started doing their magic the effect looks pretty darn good .

Thanks Guy for the kind comment . I'm also finding that when things go wrong to change that to an advantage to try something I don't do all that much or not at all . Working with pastels is easier then having to strip the paint , just wipe it off with a damp rag and try again .

Hi Terri,
Great CDL - effect, I certainly agree with everybody above. Hoping to be able to achive something similar on my Austrian DIIIs wings! This build is coming along very nicely indeed
Best Regards
Mikael

EEK the R word...runs and hides. I'm sure it will work fine, I've been experimenting frying my hand at preparing to rig the DVa. Yourself and others are a great font of knowledge and inspiration
Thank you Terri,
Keith

Beautiful rigging!! Some day I will do that. but maybe next time, if it's not much to ask, can you show us the new ones how do you make it? You know, we are eager to learn.
Congrats
