I'm really late to the party, but have made a start on my F-18E. Leaving for CA for a week which is not going to help, but I should be able to get her complete in time. Nothing like waiting until the last possible minute to get going...sheesh. "Q"

Hi,
The "New Blue" one is for this campaign.
I put my "Pumpkin" next to it because I like the look of them together.
I need to mask and touch-up here and there.
Cheers, Stefan.

Finally I'm getting somewhere:
A view of the scratched FOD covers:
Not half bad in ''certain'' lighting conditions
More details of the wonderful markings soon to follow.

I'm not gonna make it folks. Too much to do, too little time remaining and add the fact that I just started back to school with a 13 hour course load and it just isn't feasible. I'll get it finished, just not in time for the dead line. Sorry...."Q"

Beautiful F-4E and F-14A, Leo and Justin.
I sprayed Future on the F-5E tonight, so I should be able to finish in time.
I started on the NM ANG F-16C but that's not going to be done in time, I'll probably join that campaign and see what I can do in September.
To be honest, I got carried away and I have several F-16C's in progress now.
I figure it happens a lot: you take your C/N kit to build a block 30...you take your Block25/30 kit for the Litening pod and the LGB's...you take out your Block 50 kit because you want its exhaust to build that Block 40 you always wanted with the remains of C/N kit...and you get a bunch of them going at the same time.
Cheers, Stefan.

Excellent F-4E, F-5's and F-14A, Leo, Steffen and Justin. Pity you could not finish your build Matt.
Less than a week to go all. My Tomcat just requires another application of Kleer before the decals go on.
All the best.

Thanks so much guys. Means a lot.
Here you go, I'm calling this one done. Got these in the gallery:
Overall a really enjoyable build not counting the lots and lots of traps I set up for myself with all my builds.
I'll post some more pics tomorrow.
Btw:
You just gotta love Afterburner decals. And I'm not saying this out of courtesy as these are from my own pile of decals.
Whatever you do, Scott, keep them coming! You got a shure customer on my side of the pond!
Greetings from Bavaria!

Thanks a lot, Tim !!
Here's more pics:
Here's the AirDoc of Germany Pylon with Chaf/Flare boxes, rails and adapters:
A real treat to any Phantom. A little tricky to assemble. But hey...
Again the cockpit:
Just to sum up the used components:
Hasegawa F4E (second hand, started live as a parts donor for another one of my builds)
G-factor 'legs' (as I've used the kit ones for some experiment...hrrrmhrrm)
True details wheels (just for the weighted effect, gorssly overdone btw, had to modify them heavily)
AirDoc of Germany pylons set and ARN101 set (a real tresure box for Phantom Phanatics that guys webshop!!)
Legend Productions napalm tank hamfistedly sanded into a travel pod
Quickboost bang seats
last but not least one of my treasured Afterburner decal sheets: Seymore Johnson SEA&Euro1 Phantoms
Have to finish some projects that accumulated over the year and then hopefully it's up to a quiet end-of-year modelling with another phantom or something.
Some days to go! Keep up the good work, guys!

Hi,
Phabulous Phantom, Leo.
My F-5E is finished too.
And together with the Pumpkin.
They are obviously from different times at Nellis. The "New Blue" one has low-viz markings and the WA tailcode. By then, they were also painting camo on the radome. Cool, this means I have some "do not paint" stencils left for another F-5E.
Cheers, Stefan.

Hi all.
Well done Stefan, love those two F-5 Aggressors.
I am calling this "Slugger" finished. Really enjoyed this build, the1/48 Academy kit is pretty good. The decals from Afterburners are superb. I think I may orientate my future builds around these decals sets.
Not long left folks, you have until midnight tonight to complete.

Hi guys. I had a bit of a setback yesterday. I was all set to start decalling and when I removed some of the masking on the nosecone and the wing leading edge some of the paint lifted. I think there may have been a couple of my greasy fingerprints that didn't get cleaned off
Anyway. I have redone the painting but I have to wait a while before I start the decals, so I'm going to be a couple of days late. Sorry boss.
Here's where it's at right now.
Cheers, D

Hi Folks
Scott from Afterburner Decals has got back in touch with me and is very impressed with the finished models from the Afterburner Campaign.
"Thanks man! I put it up to a vote on the FB page...I'm too chicken to pick, LOL! Whomever wins I'll give a $60.00 credit to, and everybody else will get a $20.00 since there weren't a lot of participants. Thanks for putting those sheets to good use!"
As you will agree this is a very generous offer from Scott and a rewarding one for the modelers that completed.
Anyone can vote for their favorite build, just go to the Facebook page here.
All the best.
