Hi Jessie
Nice build! The windscreen?... I'd put it down to the camera angle too - it's simply amazing how different the canards look from one shot to the next.

Hi again
Well, I've made a start on the X-47B. The first surprise is the size of the beast! It's the same mistake I made with the Global Hawk - somehow I always expect a "drone" to be like an oversized r/c model, but this is a seriously big beast!
The air intake design is very clever in the kit. The parts are split so as to make painting easy - the grey interior lip is separate from the rest of the trunking - and it all fits together beautifully:
I've got my airbrush safely clear of my non-workshop (I only put it together this spring, and it's turned into a store-room before I've even had a chance to use it! LOL!) - so I hope to make a little progress tomorrow...

Nice build, Jessica. It looks great.
Nice start on the drone, Rowan. I am really tempted by the drone models, but have still to invest in one. Looking forward to see more.

Nice recovery Jessica, almost miraculous. How did it transpire?
Merlin, glad to see you back in the game. The 'pull of plastic' can be a powerful force.
Nice work by all on MiGs and Hustlers and Mirages oh my!
My F-106 has been primer'ed and sanded and primer'ed again and is ready for a light pre-shade. Pics coming after I get back to town.

I can't talk about it yet, but I got replacement decals from Russia. More news forthcoming once I get the okay.

@ John, Justin: Thanks! I really enjoyed this kit! And it started some kind of Flygvapnet mania on my work bench. A 1:48 Hasegawa Draken is on the way...

Sebastian

As promised, pics of the 1/48 F-106 sanded, primed, and ready for pre-shading and blue-gray color modulation.

Basic assembly is done, fit is pretty good overall, but the intake fit sucks
HobbyBoss Rafale B 1/72 by mawz_models, on Flickr
Next up is to fill, mostly at the intake seams.

Okay, I lied. It's not quite ready for pre-shading and all that. It's been do long since I've gotten to this stage on a kit I forgot what all needs to be done.
Painted the anti-glare shield and radome. Next comes the bare metal on the intakes and exhaust. Then it will be on track.
There are a few issues with the masking job, but I can live with it and I'm hoping some touch up and the wash will improve it.

I'm on the road on a business trip and still finding time to work on the kit, per se.
The grand plan is to use the Testors Custom Decal System to make McChord AFB tail flashes. I've used the decal system before with fairly good results, so we will see.

Looks great, Keith. Incredible what you can do in simple Microsoft programs.
Daniel, interesting choice of kit. It is one of the only kits I have had to give up and simply decided it was not worth the time and the struggle. Looking forward to see what you get from it.
Here is my finished entry for the campaign. The old and trusty 1/72 Matchbox MiG-21. A nice little kit, but as usual with soft details. A fun little build.
Comments welcome

While doing some on-line research on the F-106 I ran across this pic of a "-106 on a stick" static display. Can anyone spot the glaring error on the Florida ANG fighter?
