sorry to say it, Justin, but it looks like I won't be able to get my Fortress off the ground and onto the work bench in time for this campaign after all.
Everyone here is doing an out standing job tho. Congrats to all of you for such sterling work.
Better luck next time...I hope

ok, I am going to try and make a last minute push this month to get '"Code-One" Candy' off the blocks and thru the finish in time:
She's an F-16C from Desert Storm - 363 TFW
I'll be using the Tamiya 1/48 scale kit and Elite Decals (from isradecal.com)
more soon.

Hi,
Amazing progress you are doing here!
It's been a while since my last update, so here we go.
I have finally finished painting the airacutie. The nose-art is not perfect, but I like her the way she is :-)
I'm not sure I will paint such a complicated figure again anytime soon. The excessive masking job lifted a lot of paint that had to be touched up.
I'm sure it's not a problem with the masks though, since they are very low tack.
Anyways, here are a few progress shots and some shots of the current state. The door and propeller are of course only dryfitted just to see what it would look like.
Next job is a clear coat, and then the service stencils.
Cheers

Very nice, mate! Really, it's so good to see a non-decal pin-up girl, I hope more AM companies to start offering such masks.
Congrats to all the others participants, truly inspirational work here - can't wait to see Pussy Galore and Code One Candy in their best.
One sad news (at least for me) - it seems like I won't be able to finish my build as I have some problems with the airbrush and I'm still waiting for the spare parts to arrive.
Keep it up, guys, and we'll see each other in the next campaign.

Great choice, Vance. That will look great!
Kenneth, great airbrush and masking work. I can imagine that is really a serious masking job.
I have made a little more progress. The main assemblies are ready and after the wings have been attached to the fuselage and the clear parts fitted it is ready for the base colors. It will be a lot of masking, but I think masking is better than hand painting the clear parts and fitting after the main paint job.

A little more progress on the B-25. The main airframe is together.
Monogram has made a serious tail sitter. I have added a lot of lead in the nose, but ended out not being enough. I tried to add more, but I simply do not think it is possible to add enough extra weight without it being visible. Monogram apparently came to the same conclusion as they have included a small stair for the back entry way into the aircraft creating support to hold the tail up.
Next is a lot of masking and then some painting. More to follow soon.

Hi Jesper
I used 4 OZ of fishing weight on my B25 to get the tail up!

Well it looks like I won't be able to finish by the deadline either(again). We are in the process of buying a house, selling a house and eventually renting the house we're in. The house that we found was just luck and things are moving fast towards closing. Now it's time to pack up two homes and move so I'll be busy for a while. I usually pack up the work desk last so I'll get a little time in here and there.
In the meantime I've done a little bit of work. The resin MLG parts have been fitted to wings after much scraping to thin the original parts.
Hopefully more to come soon.

Wow, that is crazy, Richard. Does the front wheel hold up to the weight?
Good progress, Joe. Hope you will be able to finish and hope everything works out with the houses.
My B-25 is of to the airbrush booth. More to follow.

Hi Jesper
The front wheel takes the weight ok but I have bent the strut banging around on the bench, several times(operator error)!

Lost track of my camera for a while after taking the picture of the kit, but found it while taking a sanity day off of work yesterday.
I have manage to get the body more or less in shape and close to ready to paint since my last post.
This is my first try at a Tamiya F-16 (having done a couple from Hasegawa). I have to say in 1/48 the Tamiya kit is more challenging than the Hasegawa F-16. There is more innate detail in the Tamiya kit to be sure, but i have mixed feelings about which is the preferable kit in my mind - both have pros and cons. The results from kit-stock would certainly be better for a skilled modeler using Tamiya, but without some fairly advanced fitting skills, I think a junior modeler might have difficulties with it. I feel the Hasegawa kit quickly gets up to the same level with a little after-market help and is easier.
And I am none-too sure about the removable tail and under-wing stores gimmick - I have never been a fan of posts+polycaps.
Basic kit (pic from a couple weeks ago):
State of the model as of this morning:
I am a little worried about that seam across the mid-back and cleaning up the neighboring panel lines.
The underside:

Nice progress, Vance.
Here is a little more progress on my B-25. The main colors are done and most of the details. After the details are finished it is a gloss coat and decals.
More to follow soon.

I have now finished my 1/48 Monogram B-25. Not a problemfree build by any standard, but it is a decent kit and great value for money.

In between packing and running around like a crazed knucklehead I've managed to fit in a little bit of modeling time. Here's some vent work that I've been doing to improve the kit.
More at
F-105D Build
And of course, packing

Thanks for the comment, Justin. Appreciate it.
Joe, good to make progress even though you are living in and out of boxes. I know how it is to move with a big load of model supplies. It takes time.
