Hi everybody,

it is nice to see this one rolling... If I am not wrong, it should be possible to enter with my unfinished Albie from the KotS 2012? It would be great to have it finished at some point!

awaiting confirmation...

All the best,
Entoni

Great news, I just registered, specifics to follow. Question, would there be any objections to a build in progress registered on another Forum Group Build? Should that not be approved I'll be starting a little late however will definitely participate, just with a different Build.
Cheers,
Lance

No apology necessary Stephen. Kinda makes sense and, given a Nov 11 deadline, I'll have lots of time to enter a fresh Build or two! I've got "no end" of candidates, particularly 3 Fokker DVII's and my back log of WNW purchases that keep getting pushed back on the line by neat new releases. I'll go into confirmation/commitment mode shortly.
Cheers,
Lance

I'll register in a minute, don't know what to build yet but leaning towards the Eduard Biff in 1/48. Two knights for the price of one! And it is in the stash right now

I was hoping to enter a 1929 Travelair Mystery Ship into this campaign, as well as the Racing Plane GB over on Swanny's. I don't see in the rules where a build can't run in 2x campaigns concurrently, but I have to ask anyway?? The kit is not yet started.

Early Aviation Group Build Knights of the Sky III 2013 begins today.

Ok, to start there seems to be an inpression that we have been going with only WWI subjects only in the Group Builds here. Let me clarify: Any aviation subject either armed, trainer or civilian. From the Montgolfier brothers 1783 efforts through 1934. Production or prototypes. We are going to continue the the practice of non-exclusion. Everyone gets a chance.

The Rules and Regs
1. For the Aeroscale "Knights of the Sky" GB 2013 and we will open it to:
a. All builds.
b. All vendors.
c. All scales.
d. New.
e. In progress.
f. Unfinished hangar queens. But must be finished for this GB.
g. Injection moulded.
h. Vacuform plastic.
i. Resin, metal paper or wood. The components can be any combination thereof.
j. Kit conversions.
k. OOB.
l. Super detailed.
m. Prototypes or main production versions.
n. Colour scheme from a real subject and relevant to your build.
o. The completed or finished build cannot have been used in another GB. You can't just show up with a finished build. The build has to be blogged in the Early Aviation forum here at Aeroscale.

2. It must be a real Early Aviation subject up to 1934.

3. Each participant will submit a build thread (in Early Aviation title) a blog with images. Historical images of the original aircraft are a must to include. If the content meets conditions it will be considered for submission to Aeroscale for publishing as a front page Feature. A gallery will be set up for finished builds to be posted.

4. It will run from February 1st to November 30th 2013.

5. A campaign ribbon will be offered on completion.

6. Manufacturers will be approached and asked to honour the builder who uses their products in this GB build. There are no guarantees in this arena.

The real purpose of these "Group Builds" here on the Early Aviation forum is for us to learn and apply new modeling skills.

Now with the last KotS, I had the addition of figures to be included. This time the main thrust of the build will be to superdetail the motor(s). Wires, plumbing, fixtures, tanks, spark plugs, pumps, timing gears and equipment all to be represented. Good luck to everyone.

Gotta go on record as very pleased to see the interest and participation in this, Chapter III, of KoTS. Wonderful diversity in subjects, particularly the between the Wars stuff which seems to be growing in popularity. Then we have the Parosol contrasted with a couple (for now) of the latest from WNW, the DVIIs.
I'll get an entry started soon, finishing up on an entry on another site and then I'll be off and running, but still undecided on what to haul out of the stash.
Great work, everyone.
Cheers,
Lance

Count me as a maybe with Roden's Bristol F.2b for now. It just depends on what I can do with an engine at 1/72!

Hi all,

I started my Eduard Fokker Dr.I on monday and as I was in the flow I did not take photos of it (so far) so I would brake the last rule with the blog. This ist the present state:

As you can see I have build the jig form the Pheon decal set. The cowl with engine is just clipped on... great fit. Honestly I had not thoght that a small kit like this would be so much work. Due to the multi coloured nature of the markings you have to plan a lot when to assemble and paint what .. not my preferred style of model building

So the question is: is this still valid for the campaign?

As I wrote I started on monday, well I had cleaned up the fuselage parts already and panted the wood planks in the fuselage, but that was all.

all the best

Steffen
